Layed down some plasti-dip this weekend.

After having a nice talk with a few members on here last week about plasti-dip, I went ahead and did the front and rear emblems yesterday. Front was super easy after removed it from the grill. Rear was a little more prep, but only because I masked off almost the entire tailgate. The little over spray I did get, wiped off with a towel. Came out pretty good, but I think I want to remove it and use a more catchy color. I also plan on doing the side badges too, but will have to wait until I recover from spinal surgery this Friday.

Thank you and thank you. Not sure, I wanted to do something wild like lime green (which is my favorite color), but I'm thinking just doing the badges will be a bit unbalanced. I'll probably just leave it black.

I just bought the ones from the blackout eddition as I wanted them to be shiney and not chip. I like the contrast of black badges on white, especialy if they are glossy. Do you have any far away pics of the tailgate and front end? I want to see what it looks like with the express grille.

Also, how hard was it to get the front RAM off? looks like a PITA, 4 clips and 3m!!! wtf! or did you leave it on and paint it?

Nope, just like stated above, I removed it. It wasn't hard. I popped the top and let side one off, then slide a thin screw driver behind it as I popped the right side and the bottom off and it came right off.

If you go to www.dipyourcar.com, he shows how to put a glossy clear coat on it. It's pretty durable. I dropped it and it didn't scratch, I also put like 6 coats on too.

I'll try to take some pics tomorrow after the rain.

The front grill has an indent and holes when the emblem is removed.

The rear has a hole as well, no indent tho..

That made it a lot easier to mask off, just laid the tape under that small lip.
