I think this is another example of why renting a vehicle is a pain in the ass.

Again 88Rook this dealership had a positive history with me as well as the salesman and with that earned a certain amount of trust. The actual conversation with the dealer was also a bit more extensive and over the course of 2 separate meetings on 2 different dates. I wouldn’t say you are incorrect either in the acquisition of a “positive sign”, but as a member of this forum and a Ram owner calling me an idiot was strange. If you are going to treat other Ram owners like that maybe you should drive a Ford.I did, so let me break it down for you since you dont understand what you wrote.. first you said the salesman said "you SHOULD be fine" so I'm guessing you dont understand that, "SHOULD" is not a positive answer. 2nd you said they said was If I stuck with a chrysler I was going to be alright and they "USUALLY DONT" bill for minor things, now once again "USUALLY DONT" sure as hell isnt telling me that they are not going to bill me but they could, have to understand what they are telling you before get your panties in a bundle. Understanding what they are telling you is key here. so because you didnt get a written statement of the damage or statement saying YOU WONT BE CHARGED( cause you know thats a positive sign them telling you in writing i wont get a bill) you get all pissy when they send you a bill

I loved my pos ford 91 escort wagon. Got it with 100k on it for a 1000 bucks and put almost 200 more on it. over mileage, needing brakes and with well worn snow tires on it.
I got nothing in writing
never got a bill or anything for the leased Legacy.
I think they must have lost your contact info
Kidding aside, it sounds like you got the one honest salesman on the planet who lived by his word that you bought a new vehicle and were out of your lease. I'm sure his career in auto sales was short lived.
...What would you do if this were you?
Except they’re notAnother reason NOT to lease. Most car salesman are dirt bags.
FCA has nothing to do with the lease turn in process. And you can get an inspection done prior to turning it in so that you know what you’re getting into, no surprises. In your example post, they traded you out of the car, they didn’t turn it in, so you’ll never get a letter from the leasing company in that example, they never get the car back.I guess I got lucky the one time I turned in a leased vehicle.
It was a 2012 Subaru Legacy. I turned it in 9 months early, over mileage, needing brakes and with well worn snow tires on it.
I had my eye on a new 2014 XV Crosstrek base model with 5spd MT they had on the lot sitting for a while. I got ahold of the sales guy I leased the Legacy from and said I'll buy that Crosstrek today if you get me out of my lease free and clear and ONLY if I'm free and clear with it.
They did. I got nothing in writing in terms of the lease turn in. No condition report, etc. Drove off with the new Crosstrek and never got a bill or anything for the leased Legacy.
I don't think I'll ever lease again, but if I did, I'd want something in writing in terms of the lease turn-in condition. I think the whole process varies from make/make. You gotta figure FCA would be one of the shadier ones.
