Now that I have the new Fog Light Bulbs, I am looking at getting low beam bulbs. My truck has the projector lights.

I think I am going to go with Diode Dynamics bulbs. I know they are a bit expensive, but I think they do the engineering to ensure the beam pattern is correct and not blinding. They have both LED and HID bulbs for my application. Not sure which one would be the best. At this point I am leaning toward the HID and am considering the 4300K color temperature. The price is the same for either bulb.

One thing I have read is that HIDs will need to be replaced more frequently than LEDs, and in some cases can even burn out before a standard halogen headlight would. This would sway me more toward the LED solution.

From what I have seen, go with HID low beams in either headlight housing.

The projectors apparently become quite good with a set of quality HIDs.

For high beam, I recommend LED or Halogen due to the time for full brightness and HID ballasts not liking to turn on/off repeatedly.

Common sense isn't...nor is common decency.

HIDs for the projectors. LEDs in projectors will not give you good output. And if you want to match the color of your LED fogs as best as possible get 6000k temperature bulbs. 35w ballasts will last longer and 55w ballasts will be brighter. the bulbs will only last about 4 years give or take.

So, do the RAM projector low beams turn off when high beam is on?

No. They’re bi-function. The shield drops when you turn on the high beams and you get high beams from your projector and from your separate reflector.

Thank you for the replies. I did not mention, but I installed the DD yellow LEDs in my fog lights, so matching the color is not an issue.

DD LED Fog Lights:

I use morimoto products and never used DD, but I have heard a lot of good things about them so I’d say that’s a good purchase.

But if you ever want the longevity of LED lights with good output, Morimoto does have LED specific headlight housings that are Plug n Play. They’re just pricey

So, do the RAM projector low beams turn off when high beam is on?

No, only the fog lights will turn off when high beam is on unless you setup a relay to keep the fogs on as well, which defeats the purpose of what they are intended for. But again...to each their own on how they want their lighting to perform.

And is actually illegal in most states for some stupid reason.

In the projector headlights the overwhelming recommendation is HID. If you want to upgrade your High beam the can go LED again. I know you have DD. I have reverse and other LED bulbs from Headlight Revolution and couldn’t be happier.

I have factory LED fogs, Morimoto HID (need to install) and a 22 lightbar to install behind lower bumper grill. If I need to upgrade my high beam I’ll go Headlight Revolution.

I don’t know what projectors the other dude has, but yes low beams turn off and high beams turn on separate in the oem projectors.

Maybe it depends on year. could be a 2015+ feature. Mine is a 17.

You can use Alfaobd to adjust those settings to keep the low beam from dropping

Mine are factory projector headlights
Morimoto HID low beam
Morimoto LED high beam
Morimoto LED fogs " you can barely see the yellow on the ground because of how bright the HID/LED combo

I’m questioning if his model year doesn’t have bi function projectors or if he doesn’t realize he has them. My projectors shield drops when the high beams turn on. So the low beam projector turns high beam along with the regular high beam bulb in the reflector (4 high beam bulbs total). My lights are insanely bright with high beams for that reason. If the later model years with projectors don’t have no function projectors I don’t think they can be flashed in because the proper hardware isn’t there. 27775c8621727b117ece6301d91cde75.jpgb911ba47bbfce9d6bded1d4924f8b584.jpg

The setting is there and now it's active. I deactivated the Bi-Xenon projector function accidentally when I was attempting to disable the dropout feature of my fog lights. "6 lights total"

As promised a couple 25ft wall shots
First is Low beam HID
