Nothing that some time on the good ole belt sander won't fix, though.
I didn't even get mine perfectly flat, and I used Fel-Pro gaskets because I didn't know about the Remflex ones.I used a belt sander when I did the Durango manifolds, in 2019. Still nice and quiet.
I also belt sanded them on my Ram last year. So far so good.
Since the belt sander seems to have permanently fixed the Durango's manifold issue, I have high hopes for the Ram.
Mine was the same. It was the exhaust manifold. When they heated up, the crack sealed itself and the tick went away. Lifter tick dont go away.2014 Ram 5.7
Friend brought his truck over and I noticed it had a noticeable tick to it.
I checked the exhaust manifolds and no broken studs. Could it be the gasket or does this more sound like the lifters? As you can hear in the video the tick does increase with rpms.
He said it has been like this for a long time and thought it was normal.
We went for a drive and after about 5 minutes of driving once the engine warmed up the ticking disappeared.
He runs Amsoil SS 5w20 with six filter.

I’m trying to figure out as well if I have just a manifold issue or if it’s lifters. I get the tisk tisk on startup and then it goes away. Today I didn’t use radio and I feel like I can hear the flutter inside the cab? Is it possible to hear a manifold leak while driving. I know with lifters they say rpm’s and noise more obvious, but this is a 15 with 53k
