Would like to install a lift kit in my 2016 Ram 1500 4x4.
Can I do it without voiding the lifetime warranty I bought with it?
Thank you

Yes/no - depends on your dealer...
As long as the lift didn’t. Cause or contribute to the warranty issue you are trying to have resolved - shouldn’t be an issue.
Mopar has a 4 inch kit I believe, and that should fall under warranty.

the mopar lift is a "p" item (performance) and can void your warranty if its deemed that the lift caused the problem.

If you read the fine print in your warranty packet mopar states that you may have a lift up to 3”. Anything higher than that and they’ll probably not warranty drivetrain/suspension/steering items. Just my .02
That’s what it says on my paperwork.

The lift won’t void your warranty, it’s the bigger tires that strain the drivetrain.

i'm always amazed at the things people say on the forums, and don't really every seem to know the actual answer.

An OEM Mopar warranty can not, and will not be voided for a lift kit. It doesnt' matter how big your tires, it doesn't matter how big the lift, it simply won't. It's against the law. They have to prove that your lift caused whatever the issue was. I.E if you lose a bearing, they might say it's due to the lift. howver, if one of your lifters goes out, they can't, and won't say it's due to the lift.

I have a 6" lift, with 35's, and just had a new transfer case, transmission, and engine put in my truck, not only was it put in, but I have in writing that I still have my warranty because I used all OEM parts. It doesn't matter what the service contract says, and it doesn't matter what the service guy says. They will warranty your truck. Period.

6" lift and 35"? Small tire for the huge lift.

So you've had your entire drive train replaced? WTF?

It was due to an accident. But, it's still under warranty, after the fact. I don't think 35's are too small for a 6" in lift.. though, sounds like a great excuse to upgrade. I have the open country Mud tires so they are rather beefy. I think they fill the wheel well quite nicely.

On the same note, I've had plenty of warranty work actually performed outside of my drivetrain being replaced. It's also the law in every state, though, I forget the exact name of it. Unless the lift actually causes the failure then they can't void your warranty, even if they say they can, or that they will. If it makes people feel better, ask the service advisor before you buy. I find that i've been to multiple dealers, and they have all had zero issues with my lift. I even had an alignment under warranty with my lift and tires lol, i fully expected them to say " nope, your tires and lift are to big of course it bounces on the freeway ", they didnt' bat an eye. did the alignment, didnt' charge me, and rotated my tires ( all under warranty ).

Contract of my extended warranty clearly states any damage/wear caused by a lift over 2 or 3" (can't remember) will not be covered by warranty.

Mopar can’t sell you 2”, 4” and 6” lifts and still void their own warranties. Doesn’t make sense. Also, any popular lift company has their own warranties for their lifts that covers parts. If not, you shouldn’t use them.
