limited slip or not ?

hi everyone,
I am new here, just picked up a new 2012 1500HD.....and have a question...
the window sticker says it has a standard differential.
the salesman says it has a limited slip....
is there an easy way to tell ? I don't want go get my new truck muddy just to see what slips, it took too long to save up to get it.....
are ther any tags or markings on the rear end that tell what is in it ?
I have a little mechanical knowledge - but not a lot, like many of you...

If it's the 1500 traseman, it think it comes with the 10.5" rear end, and from what I understand, they come standard with a limited slip. I may be wrong, but that is what I seem to remember seeing somewhere.

If its 1500 then its a 9.25 rear differiental. Have them print out the build sheet per your vin to check lsd or open.

It is not standard from what I can tell but 4.10 gears are. I don't even see option to add limited slip.

Have dealer look up options via VIN is the quickest and most reliable. Salesman are not.

Another option would be a self test. Pick a non busy street. Press button to disable your traction control system. Floor it. If you get two skid marks you have LSD. I can do this, very reliably, every time with my 2011 1500 4x4

Yes that is Limited Slip Differential.
