I am at work so I'll try to keep this short, I have a 2011 ram 1500 and all that is done too it is a cai, exhaust, bumpers, gears and larger rims and tires.
Lately I have been back inforth in weather or not I should keep modding this truck or cut my losses and get a diesel truck. MY overall plans are wanting to have a lifted truck than can beat most muscle cars.

So my two option are keeping my truck, lifting it and supercharging it.

or trade it in for a used ctd and doing imjectors, turbos, deletes and a lift kit to that.

So like I said Im leaning in which every way so I was wanting help from the forum to see what they all would do.

Isn't it a bit of contradiction in goals to want a lifted truck and one that "can beat most muscle cars" ?

If a muscle car also has what you have, you loose. Most of them do not have diesels and the unleashed potential there, just say'n. I believe it would be easier to tap that potential in a slightly older truck as well.

Tons of youtubes Cummins Rams running in the 9's and even 8's. Even lifted ones in the 9's. Although if I was going that fast, I'd probably rather be seated in the track a little better, that's just me. If you are going that fast on the street, you would be a fak'n idiot.

Would you be considering an older diesel or newer model?

I certainly wouldn't get a new diesel to run the **** out of it.

If it's an older one, then performance potential would be there.

I've seen some diesel trucks smokin vettes, Mustangs etc.....it sounds like this is the route your shooting for.

An older diesel will make a whole bunch more power and torque than a supercharged gasser and it's the torque that moves ya.

I say get an older diesel and mod the hell outta it.

Either route will cost $$$. Gotta weigh the expense of a different truck and starting over with mods on a diesel vs continuing to mod the 2011 you have.

depends on how you drive it, how much expense you can stomach etc...

diesels are on a whole other level of wallet pain if things start heading south. They are also on another level with general upkeep.

how many miles you drive at a time may also play a factor as short drives is not always an ideal situation for a diesel truck.

also keep in mind the handling and comfort levels generally drop with the heavy duty trucks.

2010-2012 ram 2500 diesel- delete it- lift it, buy some upgrades and watch the ***** purr. If u go to old you only get the 4-5 speed tranny, and having that 6th gear is nice. It's not going to be cheap.
