Looking at new to me '17 Limited 1500 4x4 1 owner with 27,000 on the clock. Super clean, 3.92s tow mirrors, air ride. I had 5.9s for a long, long time and Im a little anxious. thing is, I just tow heavy anymore. Any, other than obvious things, to look for? We're on our 2nd Hemi Durango, so I know about the lifter debacle. Ive also read about the quirky airbags.
Thanks

Only the air suspension is a love it or hate it item. People rant and rave about it others swear at it and never want to have anything to do with it.
Be sure to follow the factory instructions for setting up your WDH with the air suspension.

How heavy is heavy?

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas.

I was towing 12-15. Now, rarely, 7,500, maybe 8,000 max.

You’re borderline 1500 to 2500 area. You might be better off with a 2500.

I agree with Michael. I have a 2017 1500 and I think you should get the 2500.

I disagree, 8000 max is still in half ton territory. Any higher and I would agree that you should look into 2500 trucks, but if that's his max weight then I think the benefits of the 1500 outweigh the 2500s increased capabilities.
