My stock 20x8 clad wheels are okay, always wanted a black rim and just wasn't in the cards at the time of my lease agreement. I'm looking at a 20x9 black rim and thinking that I should get some summer grippy tires for those rims, then Swap back to the clad for the winter with the stock goodyears.
Rims will cost $685. Cheapest route would be to swap over the stock 275s which will run me maybe $25ish per wheel so maybe $100. But then I couldnt swap to the clads for winter and the salt in NJ would kill the rims quickly probably. So I was looking at a fatter shorter profile tire like a 285/50R20 but not sure how that would fit on a 20x9 rim, or even the stock 275 on a 9" rim. Wider is always better for grip in the summer. I also know changing tire height will mess with the speedo but that could be fixed with a tuner lol... ugh.
Truck is a stock height 2014 express crew cab.
What are your recomendations? Any pics of the shorter profIle fat tires on these rams?
