Me and my friend spent 2 hrs working on it on the cold ground under my truck at auto parts in east bumble F*ck trying to get them working finally got them working and and hr 1/2 from home took a final **** luckily my fog lights worked will never by that brand again i know alot of ppl who recommend them i guess i got a bad batch.. enough with my rambling does anyone recommend a set that is just plug and play?

Running HID's without relays is asking for trouble. The new kits that Retro Shop is sending out are top notch and are tough to beat. I have been running their old kit in my truck for 2 years now, I have a set in my Dad's new 2013, and I even installed some in my friends 2012 Ford F150 a few months ago. No issues here with any of them.

What did they say about what went wrong? There are hundreds of these kits out there right now on this forum alone without problems. Key to not having problems is to make sure you get a solid ground, try to keep all electrical connections as far from the elements as possible, and use dielectric grease in all electrical connections. This will help prevent corrosion which is usually what causes relays and ballasts to go bad.

Sounds like you've got a kit from my prior supplier. I had quite a bit of success with them, but in the end started seeing an uncomfortable amount of failures, and warranty claims were......a pain. At the end of the day, moving and going with the kits I now use was the 2nd best decision I've made in my business (first being the website, lol)

I moved to a new supplier in April, and - I had my first DOA ballast this week. I've sold about 200 of the kits in the past 6 months, so - not a bad ratio there! Warranty concerns are handled very quickly, and easily.

No relay? Bad idea........

Good idea? This relay setup

Heavy duty wiring, honestly - its overkill, but......hey - better safe than sorry.

We now utilize a 2 relay setup. Everyone is still a single. Why does that matter? Well.......relays do go bad sometimes (rare), but......hey - if it goes bad on a single relay kit - BAM, no lights. Ours? hey - you are a one light wonder for a short bit. Still seeing though! ;)

real quick jeremy, whats the difference in the moto-control box (on my dual headlights) and those dual relays (found on the quad headlights)?

a lot.

The moto-control basically is a relay, but also "interprets" the signals from the truck - high and low beams - to switch between the 2, and trigger highs. The dual relay setup, single beam only on that (for now.......)
