Finally some positive news in terms of tracks. Need more news like this.

Everyone needs to go out and support your local tracks. Especially the ones that are willing to make the place better for us spectators.

I’m planning on moving out of south Florida to north Florida in a couple years. I hope the track in north Florida is still open by the time we get to moving. I would go every month. I love watching test and tune.

it is but you know my truck is slow with these big tires. I want to get a project vehicle eventually. Either an older truck like an s10 or Dakota to go fast or something dedicated for off-road. I’d still like to put a bge block in my truck but priorities.

We had a nice 1/4 mile track, 40 miles north of San Diego
& in another area, they had a nice Go Cart type track.
In another area, they had motocross & an small Airport

They were not making much money, for the amount of land
The Airport is still operating.

To get there, you travel a very narrow 2 lane road until you pass the CASINO.

it is but you know my truck is slow with these big tires. I want to get a project vehicle eventually. Either an older truck like an s10 or Dakota to go fast or something dedicated for off-road. I’d still like to put a bge block in my truck but priorities.

You don't need a fast vehicle to play on test-n-tune nights or run brackets,actually a slower vehicle isn't a bad way to bracket race,as they're usually a little more consistent.
I made it to the final round at the our last Hemi shoot-out,a 64 car field,with the wifes 1320,by being fairly consistent.They had issues with the clocks so it was 90 minutes between my last round and the final round,and the wind had dropped off,and i didn't compenesate enough for the wind and the amount of time the car had sat with the hood open between rounds,when i re-adjusted my dial-in,and the damn thing ran 0.02 under it's dial-in,aarrgghh,lol
I didn't feel to bad though as i lost to a pro-built bracket car that was running 9.40's at our 5,000ft DA,and i was running a foot braked street car,lol

These 2 guys drove a VW Bug to the track, made some adjustments & raced at least 6 or 7 times.
They did darn good until that poor engine blew parts & threw the belt.
They were still looking someone to tow that bug home, when we left.
It was a Saturday, so they had plenty of time to make arrangements

Years ago when we still had a local track,there was a young girl who bracket raced a Diesal VW Rabbit,and she did good with it.It ran high 20 sec 1/4 mile times and she'd get such a big head start,you could hardly see the car by the time your side of the tree came down,lol.More guys red lite against her then you could shake a stick at,they'd get anxious waiting and when their side of the tree came down,they were leaving too early.The girl was good,as she could cut down the tree better then most guys could.I hated ending up beside her,lol
