I'm looking at getting 4.56 gears with LSD but I need some advice on what all I'm gonna need. I have 4wd so I know im gonna need gears for both axles. What's the difference between the Detroit Tru-trac and Detroit Locker?

I'll do my best to explain this as best as I understand it.

The Tru-trac I was told is a better version of the stock LSD. It just locks when it needs to. This is best for on-road, as well as an occasional off-road adventure.

The Locker is a full time locker, really for if you're into serious off roading. I have a buddy with a full time locker and he said it takes some getting used to, especially on wet roads. If we had a selectable locker option, or electronic locker option, I would have gone this route, but I didn't want a full time locker on a DD.

Have you found a shop that will modify your carrier to work? There is nothing out for 2012s I don't think.

No, unfortunately not. I think FastNUgly was going to see if he can get his modified to work with a 2012, but he'd be the first one I know of on 2 forums with gears on a 12. I know another guy is working on it too, but it's going to cost some money when they figure it out.

Like mentioned, nobody makes an aftermarket limited slip for your diff yet. A qualified shop can make it work, but it is going to be a very expensive upgrade.
