I have a lot of kids ok my truck so far, and a few days ago one of my friends basically stock trucks just blew me out of the water. Embarassing, I know, but I feel like I just don't have all the low end torque I once did. I know the factory stuff was made to help it, but cut out around 3k rpms in terms of anything useful, and that's why I upgraded. Would a street cam help my issues here? Any input would be great. Thanks guys

Ahh yes. The inherent problem with the kegger, no power above 3 grand. Only way to fix that is with a Mopar M1 intake, 52mm throttle body, Harland Sharp 1.7 rockers, and a good tune

I have only m1 and free flowing cat back with superchips set to 91 octane. With the both the the open muffler and m1 i lost a little bit of low end torque and the the superchips didn't help out. 1.7RRs,throttle body, and headers would really help me out as would sct tuning. I can say however that now rather than cutting out at 3k now it screams soon as it hits 3k.

A cheap half ass way of feeling like you have more low end torque with my setup is keep the shifter in 2nd when in town. It will still do the 1-2 and 2-1 shifts but won't go above 2nd. It pulls hard in 2nd even if im already cruising at 30-40mph.

I ditched the kegger when I got the truck. Got myself a Hughes airgap, since m1's are in short supply. I have a CNC ported TB as well, along with a no restriction exhaust (nocats and/or muffler) . I have a hemifever tune, set to the 87 octane. Thinking of changing that soon though. Would you say I should get 1.7 rollers from Harland or an aftermarket cam? I know the rollers will be easier to install and I'll need new springs for both but a cam can help far more from what I hear

I'm running a modded kegger since summit sent me the wrong *******. 1.7's roller rockers, e-fan conversion tb mod ported to 52mm and 4.10 gear ratio and 91 octane tune. Oh and a full custom exhaust. If I could catch traction, I would do some damage to these newer stock trucks.

Humm aircrap it needs more parts to make up for what it took from you. Yep cam some 1.7 about $600 in valve train parts. Ditch the big tb and put a stock one back on.

Out of curiosity, when was the last time you did a good tuneup, OP? You'd be surprised at the loss of power with an outdated tuneup.

Gears will definitely fix it, if you can afford it. Not a cheap mod by any means, but worth every penny.

I've had my gears done to accomodate my tires. I literally just got my tune not 2 weeks ago from hemifever. If you guys had to choose one which would you do, a cam or roller rockers? I'm working on a budget for now and I can do one or the other and still get new springs and all the valvetrain parts I'd wanna replace while I'm in there

Another question, are those of you running 91 octane tunesactually running 91 octane? And what exactly is the difference between a 91 and 87 octane tune? Just for my clarification lol

Rockers are $350.... Compared to a cam, easily installed.

I'd also run a 91 tune and get Flyin Ryan to tune it. Sean isn't the best for 2gs any more, he's slacking due to the newer trucks

On another note, would I need tall valve covers if I wanted to run 1.7? I've heard stories about it but I'd like confirmation

91 octane time pretty much just allows and runs more timing from my understanding. I could very well be wrong so someone feel free to correct me.

My truck loves my 91 superchips even compared to the 87 tune. Not so much the engine but the transmission. Every time I've tried to run 87 tune transmission acts funny but with 91 runs much much better

Non adjustable don't hit. Adjustable needs the baffle removed or taller vc's.
