Map lights

Hello everyone, I am having an issue with my Map Light on the drivers side, it will flicker. It will be at full brightness and without touching anything it will dim down, and it only seems to do it on the drivers side. It does it if I press the button or turn them on with the switch.

I have 2013 Sport so I am pretty sure it has an LED light in there.

Has anyone else had this issue, or know what I can do to fix it?

You gotta change the whole overhead console. The led's are not serviceable.

I bet that console is crazy expensive, looks like I will have to deal with a flickering light.

If you have just the plain overhead console without the sunroof and garage door switches, it runs about $77 dollars. The ones with the extra switches will run about $150+

My buddy had the same problem luckily it was covered under warranty.

I've got the same problem, but on the passenger side. It irritates the hell out of me. It rarely works perfect. I plan on getting it replaced when I go for a service and the recall.

My console has the garage door opener, the power rear slider, and power sunroof.

When I get time I will take it apart and see if I can do anything to fix it.

I wish I could get mine fixed under warranty, but since my truck was previously a Canadian truck and I am in the US the warranty is not valid here. It has 35,500 miles on it, so the bumper to bumper warranty is almost gone but the powertrain warranty would have been nice to have.

i wouldnt mind having lights and sunglass storage up there. all i have is the tradesman so i didnt get anything fancy like that.

I have the same flickering light problem. Same truck (2013 Sprot) and same side (drivers). I haven't taken it in yet, but fortunately I still have warranty.

Man I hate that for you. In all honesty, a vehicle warranty should stick even in another country. Hopefully a decent price fix will come around. I almost started to take mine apart, but it was like 9:30 p.m. and I had a feeling that I would of been losing sleep and be not worth a crap at work. If I get the chance to start messing with it I'll fix it myself and repost what I did.

Man sorry to hear that did you ever find a fix? Why would they build something so you can't replace a bulb.

Known problem, I have it and will be fixed under warranty. My dealer had already heard about the problem.

Thanks for posting this. My drivers side flickers and goes dim. Thought I just needed to replace a bulb. Guess I'll call the dealer.
