I hate it. As I try to lightly apply throttle to accelerate it feels like I have to apply what I consider "enough" throttle to maintain speed on light inclines but it bogs down requiring even more throttle to get all 8 holes going and then it downshifts and takes off.

Let's just say mds system works good and it does work but a little savings in gas just not worth it to me.
Now with it on it is going on and off continuously especially in urban areas . The wear and tear of these parts that make it work I think would be extensive continuously working all the time . I run with it off works better sounds better that's my 2.

Addicted, you make a fair point with respect to how many 03-2019 5.7 and 6.4 Hemi's are out there. How many with the PC MDS function. Well we would agree, something less than the total. But,,,beyond that we are all different people. I respect those people who look at,,,, it starts, it runs and does what I bought it to do. I will trade it in at about 100k and have no interest or need to be concerned about long term wear. The engineers are smarter than I am in designing engines and I trust them. MDS is supposed to save me money, so I will accept that.
NOT AT ALL assuming that this is "your" POV. It is however a POV shared by many people.
The other group of people (maybe as many) understand how a internal combustion engine works. They keep their vehicles for 10 or more years. They expect to get 200k-500k mile from the truck. And yes, with proper care many do. When I am on a 600 mile drive trip going through desert or cold, I want, I expect that engine to run on all 8 cylinders as provided. I expect air fuel and spark to go to all 8 cylinders. I use the correct oil, filter and good preventive maintenance to guard against early failure and wear. Want to give that engine and transmission the best chance to live a long life with out a major repair. Given today's vehicle design. Out sourcing of parts to crap vendors over sea's. Manufactures compliance with PC ********* environmental requirements. My expectations of today's trucks may be unrealistic. Going to try though. Thanks for listening. Fitz
Thanks fitz-thats my point -if I take a 500k trip, then i want all 8 working and wearing evenly-but it wont as the mds will kick in when I am cruising and for the most part I will be running on 4 and those 4 will be working overtime-I dont like that.

My biggest gripe with the MDS is the logic they put into it...i usually shift to 8 as soon as it goes in drive by the way...but I dont see the logic in having it cut on under say 55mph! What mpg benefit is it for it at 25mph basically idling out of my neighborhood or in city driving?!?! Mileage in those conditions is going to suck no matter what. Have it programmed to kick on in 7th&8th or over 55 or something for freeway and interstate speeds. I guarantee that mds has more effect on increased mileage in higher speed cruising than it does stoplight to stoplight.
I totally agree--If i has any advantage at all then it is at highway speed. around town from stop sign to stop sign is just annoying. Just wish we could decide when we want it without going through the gear change and without having to buy a tuner

In August my wife tell me we’re going to Pennsylvania for back to school shopping. So I’ll see how she does with MDS off. Might even do one way with it on. One way with it turned off [emoji2369].

Diablo sport says their tune will not void warranty but they do suggest selecting the stock tune before getting serviced because a lot of dealers flash the PCM to clear problems. Basically the whole thing is reversible so you could do it now and enjoy it until you have to have something done to your truck in warranty.

Sorry, clarification, I’m not sitting on it currently. I will be doing it next year just before my warranty expires. I really want to do it now, but I’m not going to risk blowing my warranty.
Main reason I went with the pulsar .
Dont have to unlock the pcm .

If I am not mistaken, in my year, my PCM is locked. It needs to be unlocked or have 2nd PCM. If you roll into service and they connect up and see the flash history, which is very likely the first step, and that the PCM is now wide open, that warranty is now toilet paper.
As far as the Pulsar, I am one of the 10% or so that it failed/crapped the bed on. I had a brand new one in April, meticulous install and set up and within 24hrs shut my engine off during driving twice. Refund. I wont badmouth it, but it is well documented on the forum of issues with small percentage of us. Makes me jealous. Haha

If I ever do an unlocked pcm, I would love to do long tube headers as well as tuning out the ***** MDS. Not saying I am going that route, but I sure would love to.

You'll like the combination of the long tubes and the custom tune---and you might as well shut the MDS off while your tuning.

I can never tell when it's active. Mine is a 2019 1500

My father-in-law has an '18... with the 8-speed transmission you really can't tell a difference between MDS and no MDS. It's a big contrast from my 6-speed unit.
