I've read that a ECO light is supposed to come on when your in MDS. I have had the truck for a few weeks now and have never seen this. Most of my drive to work is 70mph @ 1500 RPMs so I would think the light would be on? Any have any thoughts on this?

It can be turned off and on through your head unit. To clarify, if it says Eco it doesn't mean you're in mds mode, just that you are driving economically. If you are in mds it will read Eco, but just because it says Eco doesn't mean it's always in mds. I just turned my Eco display off over the weekend.

What these guys said ^

At 70 mph you won't see the eco light and the truck won't go into mds. 70 is not a speed to get good mpgs lol.

Thank you guys.

XRS... what is a solid cruising speed? I seem to average right above 20 at 70... honestly much slower and I might get ran into lol.

.. at 70 mds will activate.. hell I had it activate at 80 on the fwy but that was at sea lvl- altitude can play a big part as to weather or not the motor is working hard.

Nothing but sea level here, in fact half my drive is over the bay lol.

Mine too, hell it kicks into eco at 90 cruising down the hwy... If there is below a certain percent of load on the motor it will kick in for eco and then MDS, what that percent is I dont know though

I don't think 3/4 and 1 tons have an ECO or MDS light. We have to go by sound or what is inferred through a Scangauge.

1/2 tons rejoice, however.

If you never see 'ECO' @ 70 mph/1500 rpms,,, even downhill, my guess is you need to turn on the 'ECO light' function in the display. (I had to on my 14)

As stated, not a direct indicator of MDS, but you'll see 'ECO' more than just when MDS is engaged.

Took at least 10k miles on my 09 5 speed before the drivetrain loosened up enough to really show "ECO" much. (My 14 8 speed shows ECO a lot more since day 1, but still 'a bit more with age')

Let us know what you find.

They took the "Fuel Saver in Cluster" option out of the last several Uconnect updates. They only way you can see that option is right after updating the Uconnect software.
