Anything but 5W20 will prevent the MDS from working.

According to the dealer you can use 0w-20 with no issue as well. I have not tried it yet but will next oil change and let you all know. If it gives me issues I will just turn MDS off haha.

I turned off my MDS a few weeks ago, and I haven't noticed much difference in mileage. But it is MUCH less noisy when I am cruising at low speed.

What mileage are you getting in your Bee? I was getting 26 in the R/T on the highway. Kinda missing that now only getting 16 in the truck.

Its my old mans Bee, he gets 23-25 on average. It needs to be driven more so it dont waste away. Poor thing sits covered in the garage and has all of 4k on it, the R/T advenger and the SLT Dakota take up the most of the mileage.

I sure as hell don't get that in my Bee! It usually averages about 18 with my wife driving it, and a little lower when I drive it. :D

^I dont think his bee has seen any speed over 70 till I drove it. Only time I can say he has honestly put his foot into it was one night goofing off with me after I put my 1st cam in my truck.

Trup, I just wanted to input my side. I hate MDS. lol

I have a magnaflow exhaust, and every time it switches to MDS its sounds horrible. The exhaust bogs out, and sounds like crap. I just bought a tuner, and only to solve this issue.

Turned mine off. On the '06 it used to sound terrible. but had no tuner back then to turn it off. So always just gave it a little gas to get rid of it. Now, no worries.

Yes it will. The key is 20 weight oil. If you put 5W30, 10w30, 30, 10w40 etc the mds will not work. The first # in blended oil is the viscosity that it flows at when cold. If you're in a warmer climate or just during the summer in a cold climate then straight 20 weight oil should work just fine. Nothing heavier.
