So, i can’t get an accurate trans fluid measurement at all. It’s either way too high or way too low, and it hasn’t been accurate since i first ever did the fluid on it. Now, that the trans is new, i can’t even get it up to operating temperature anymore. So with that said, does anyone have any idea on what the fluid level is supposed to be at around 140°F? I’m gonna jack the rear end up on it and get it perfectly level tomorrow so i can tell once and for all what the actual level is at 70°F trans temp, as it’s the only way i can get an “accurate” measurement.

There should be a cold level and warm level, if you are having issues with trans not making warm temp, just use cold line?

Yeah, i’m going to do that. Only issue is the last time i tried doing it at the cold line when operating temps were at around 70, the level looked weird. Only one half of the dipstick was coated in fluid when looking at it from a vertical view.

There are some calculators running around the net on this, engineering tool box has one if you know the density of the fluid, I'm just not the **** about it. I tend to go over the warm line in both my vehicles. Even if you achieve a value of density versus temp, you would still have to figure out how that relates on the dip stick. If a qrt is one qrt at this temp, and 1.1 qrts at that temp, how could you figure that out on a dip stick that simple has two positions? You would need a dipstick that had this is 11-12-13-14 qrt line etc.
