I'm just trying to find out if there is any pattern to which lifter/cylinder number failed with this cam issue. If you don't know just punt the question please. For those of you who had a cam/lifter fail only, which lifter number was the culprit?

For my shop most seem to be the driver side, either 5 or 7. That being said we do see them on pretty much every cylinder as well.

Are you saying that both MDS and non-MDS cylinders have had failures? Is the same MDS lifter used for all cylinders, even the non MDS cylinders?

Thanks - so both types of lifters are experiencing roller and cam failures?

Number 6 exhaust lifter and cam lobe. Number 4 intake and exhaust lifters had "latch" turned.

There was no noise until number 6 intake pushrod bent. The only indication leading up to this was an intermittent misfire code for cylinder 6.

Did an oil change the other day. Looks like I'm having more failures. [emoji51]a983a0c3558821fbcda5d3fb9c7c23a3.jpg

What oil did you run, and what was your OCI?
Oci?? I was running royal purp 5w30 for the longest time. Went to penz ultra platinum and k&n oil filter. If I wanted to go redline it's like $200 an oil change once I got the oil paid and shipped up here. [emoji52]

OCI = Oil Changer Interval

Not sure where you are but you can try https://www.partsource.ca/ they have Redline on sale every so often, I've picked up 2 redline oil changes on sale so far. But yeah that stuff is costly.

Every 5000 km. Or earlier depending on how much weight I'm towing and how long of runs. I'll have to look into That. I'm in Whitehorse Yukon everything costs a ton to get here for some reason.

Is motul 300v is as expensive in Canada as redline? I thought maybe the French connection would give you a break?

[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] French connection! they're basically their own country within a country over there! I can't say I've ever looked at that though.
