If I take a truck to the dealership to get the mileage verified by comparing all the modules in the truck, what test or authentication am I asking for ?
I've recently seen on YouTube where its rather easy to roll miles back on most any vehicle.
And before I purchase this rig I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I contacted a Dodge store yesterday, and they flat told me it was impossible to roll the miles back, and this was a service mgr ( so he said ) HELP

They've been making aftermarket computers that will roll Back mileage for years. I've always been worried about this. My friend bought a used diesel a few years ago from a dealer and it had 100k more miles on it than what they said. Only reason he knew is because he took it in to get rocker guarded and the paint shop did previous work to it. They ran the Vin and called him saying its got less miles on it now than it had before. So he told them to not do the job and immediately took it to the dealer. They were very accommodating. Sketchy tho.

I'm not sure if the dealership can tell you. I know my odometer is wrong because I had to change the cluster and the mileage it showed was from the totaled truck I got it out of. I went to the dealership and asked if they could tell me what my miles actually were with their machine and they said they couldn't.

I asked if there was any way I could get that number because I have more than what the odometer says and I'd like to be able to continue to keep track of my actual mileage, the response I got was basically "Just ignore it, your truck is worth more now that it's lower mileage". This is why I don't buy used vehicles.
I know I'm about 24,000km more than what the odometer says based on pictures I've taken of the cluster but apparently there's no way of knowing exactly.

I've read the mileage is in the actual cluster and there at companies that will change it for you for a fee + shipping. Alot of ppl get the nicer cluster (with the correct miles ) change out the base one and keep all the paperwork.

The mileage is stored in the cluster, ecu I think in the tcu and possibly the bcm. And probably somewhere else. Changing the cluster mileage is the easy part. I don't think anyone (besides the dealer and they could only view) has access to where the mileage is stored in the other computer's/modules. The one confusing aspect of where the mileage is stored is, if it's stored in the ecu also then your mileage wouldn't match if you bought a Diablo sport tuner with their unlocked ecu ran that for thousands of miles then reinstalled the oem ecu. (Don't believe this applies to diesel).

To the OP, if you express your concerns to the salesmen and he won't do anything about it ask to speak with the manager. If he won't do anything about it walk away. Maybe then they'll bring it into the shop and look.

Unless the truck has way less miles then the average truck for that year I'd say you don't have anything to worry about. But how the truck visually looks can tell you a lot about the mileage. How the drivers seat feels, how the truck drives, handles, trans shifts. Are printed labels on interior plastics worn/faded. Are the tires newer than what mileage is on the truck (not a guarantee, could of had aftermarket wheels/tires on). I've had my truck for a little over 2 years now and barely have 18000 miles. My wife has had her truck for just about 1.5 years and just broke 8000 miles. So there are low mileage truck's out there.

Also, look at the engine hours to see if it looks fishy, as compared to the odometer.

I believe the engine hours are also stored in the cluster, so it could be changed as well as the odometer
