Hi all,

I recently repaired my 2014 1500 from a head on collision. Cosmetic damage outside of the radiator, grille, shutter and condenser.

Only issue I have now is I cannot locate the harness that connects to the shutter so I'm stuck with it disconnected. Is there anyone that can guide me as to where I can trace it from. Does it come off of any other line? Maybe I can trace from that line and see if maybe it got cut off when they replaced the parts.

What transmission does the truck have?

Good question, that I do not know anything about. Research the many different ways to delete that item. If one of them is safely doing it at TIPM with no code, there ya go. Either unplug or even unplug relay.

Is it running now and no codes?

Kind of makes sense since I'm in a year round hot climate. Won't I need the harness to do that though?
Being a 14 you don't need an unlocked pcm,so either buy yourself HP or find somebody with it,and you should be able to delete the code, that's if you have a code,if not i wouldn't worry about it

I would keep looking for the harness as it has to be there somewhere if you had shutters on it before. After you find it, modify the switch with the stop as seen on many posts and leave the shutters out. Mine have been upstairs in my garage since 2 weeks after getting the truck and all works fine.

All the videos I've seen so far work off the premise that the harness is connected, and you're just going to trick the motor or remove the actual shutter fins. I cannot find one mention of where the harness comes from, just that it should be hanging right below the shutter. I've been all through the engine bay and am yet to see a harness or even a wire that looks like its been cut.

Start checking any freshly taped part of the front harnesses,as it might have got taped in with another front harness.I highly doubt it was removed,it's probably just buried in with another harness

it comes out of the harness bundle that runs beneath the fuse box. It is about 18" -24" long with just the single plug. It comes out to the shutters from the driver's side of the radiator / through the radiator support and the plastic shroud.

They don't just mysteriously vanish. When the work was done, they may have tucked up somewhere that you can't see, but it is there. You just have to look harder to find it.
