This might seem like a stupid question but I use conventional Mobile 5w20 5000 in my '06 & '16 minivans. Instead of using Mobile 1 Syn. I'm going to use Pensoil platinum 5w20 syn. in my '17 Big Horn 5.7. My question can I mix a qt. of 5w20 Mobile Syn. in my '06 to get rid of the bottle? ftd

No issue, all brands are compatible. Synthetic is the same thing as conventional, it just has less stuff in it.

Not a big deal. Only time I think it's bad to mix oils is when mixing two different brands of oil. Chemists and chemical engineers that formulate oil, design balanced additive packages to their oil; mixing two different brands of oil will disrupt the additive package. Check out the link to learn more.

Gentlemen, thank you all for answering my question. I went with the Penzoil Ultra Platinum 5w20, because I was told that is what was put in at the factory, I like to stay with what was installed.

Not only what the manufacturer wants you to run but PUP has proven itself as the best oil for the hemi with the uoa's. If you get Hemi tick there is a better oil, but for most hemi's you went with the best choice imo. The oil poll agrees , Pennzoil synthetics most used oil on Ram forum.

From the professor.....

Conventional Walmart Supertech oil is also OK to use in both the 5.7 and 6.4...Theres a video on youtube with the 2 RAM ENGINEERS who did the R&D saying the engines DO NOT require ULTRA...Conventional oil will suffice according to them..

I use pup also with a royal purple synthetic oil filter. I believe our trucks come from the factory with pyb. An excellent conventional oil.

The thing I find very ironic and possibly hipocritical is FCA wants you to use Pennzoil, I get that, but if you want us to use Pennzoil MAKE PUP AVAILABLE AT LEAST AT DEALERSHIPS. At the dealerships in my area the only PUP they are even interested in carrying is 0/40 and then only in limited supply, 1 or 2 oil changes and theyre out. I know you can order it from Amazon or Walmart but with probably a million or so Hemi's on the road and then they want you to use an oil that's as PITA to get. For me I'll stick with M1 and if have to order oil it will be Amsoil..[emoji867] Pennzoil.
