Have the Mopar Performance Exhaust and while it does sound amazing, most recently had loose bolts causing horrible chatter at cold startup, leading me to consider doing some exhaust work with a weld instead of clamp potentially to eliminate that issue again down the road.

Has anyone ever added any bolt on or exhaust shop weld mods to their Mopar Exhaust?

Don’t want to get rid of it, but open to enhancing that if it’s possible.

replace the clamp with the defective bolt, if you decide to replace the kit in the future it will have a greater reselling value

look on amazon for vibrant exhaust clamp, they are accuseal SS clamp

Go to a napa and get the band clamp they are stainless about 3 inches wide and 2 bolts in them the wrap the full joint and form to both pipes. I use to use them on my drag cars and never had a single issue with one ever after that.

The downside of welding on your exhaust system is sometimes you need to loosen the clamps to move the pipes around a little--for instance the cross-over pipe is sometimes really close to the tranny pan and sometimes you don't have sufficient room to drop the pan and you have to move the cross over pipe a little. If it's welded you would have to cut it. I think just replacing the clamps with a better style clamp would be the better solution.

Thanks guys for the clamp suggestions! I’ll have to look into it wasn’t really considering that. I have lifetime warranty and according to that I can’t service the tranny because it’s “lifetime” which sucks because I would like to be preventative but don’t wanna void it if it were to fail, but interesting to know about the welding in that location.

Guess no one has upgraded the existing Mopar performance exhaust then.

Get a wide belt clamp or weld the system joints together. That's all the upgrading you need to do to stop the rattles. If you want it louder, and don't mind drone, take off the rear resonators.

Feel like this post just turned in to Rattle solution when I was aiming at seeing if anyone cut in a Carvan or res deletes.

I can’t find any video of this Exhaust with resonator delete. Anyone on here done it at all? Don’t want it to sound raspy or drone and ruin it but curious what res delete sounds like.

I have the muffler delete on mine and love it. I wish it was a tad more raspy (like the loudmouth on my camaro) . The resonators are straight through i believe and dont mess with sound other than drone. The catalytic converters and front y pipe would be the next step in making sound changes
