So I've been having intermittent problems with either the passenger or driver side light going out. The would turn back on by turn the headlights on and off again. I've replaced both driver and passenger ballasts and igniters. Worked fine for about a week. I came out today and now nothing, no headlights at all. All connections look good, ground/power are fine, and fuse looks good. Any ideas? Not sure why they would just quit out on me like that.

Edit to add: it's nothing in the truck wiring, just tore the headlight apart and plugged the stock bulb in and it works fine

I do, I bench tested it and everything "seemed" to check out but when I install it in the car I get no voltage at the headlight connection.

I had one that went out as well not long ago the passanger side ballast. On my old truck I had the harness take a crap but would work sometimes if I pushed up on the wires at the bottom. Ended up getting a replacement and it was fine after that.

Sounds like the canbus system is kickin in. The resistors or harness that tricks the computer into thinking the lights are stock aren’t doing their job anymore . I’d start with new harness/resistors/ballasts

Ballasts and ignitors are both brand new one was put in 2 weeks ago and the other this past Monday. I just ordered a harness, hoping it's that I really don't feel like ordering resistors as well. Pretty dissatisfied with this system it's only a year and a half old and I've already had to replace a ballast that was bad and now this. I mean **** at this point I may have just bought an entire new kit

They should carry at least 3 year warranty.. hope your not paying this out of pocket on replacements.

I have been, ballasts and ignitors I got on Amazon and had em within a day. I needed them asap as I only had my truck to get back and forth from work. I thought I saw the ballasts at least only had a 18 month warranty and I'm probably just over that now.

Yea you have to wait for them on warranty. Im lucky enough to work from home so can have a down truck for 3 days or so because TRS is kind of slow when it comes to warranty.

I would suggest using Alfaobd to program the Truck's BCM into having HID's installed.

Worked for me :)

If he sets it to HID would he get rid of the relays and all that?

That was about to be my question, it would definitely alleviate the amount of trouble shooting if something goes out. Would Narrow it down to ballasts or bulbs.

I'm pretty sure it's got to be something going on inside the relays or the connectors to go into the relays. Because I'm getting no voltage coming out of any of the input cables

Yeah. All I used were bulbs, ballasts and ignitors. It was all plug and play.
Did you use the morimoto kit for this or another kit?

I used:

Morimoto XB 4500K bulbs
Morimoto XB 35w ballasts
Morimoto ignitors
Morimoto LED 2stroke 2.0 high beams
Morimoto LED sealed fogs with Lamin-x yellow cover.

OBDLinkMX bluetooth adapter
Alfaobd software

No additional relays, harnesses, or resistors were needed or used.

Now if the end user wants 55w bulbs and ballasts I would highly recommend the mopar spec harness. I don't think the stock wiring can handle the larger output.

Rest of the truck runs JDMAstar led bulbs with zero bulb out errors.

I do currently run 55w ballasts but I have a set of 35s as well. I put an order in for a obd link today, I needed one anyway. I have a harness on the way as well. Running them without the harness is very tempting but I do like the extra output the 55s give

Is this the only setting you enabled?

View attachment 152801

That was one of many.

I'll have to connect to the truck when I get out of work to send the latest settings to Google drive.

Off the top of my head

I enabled HID for the Low beam
Enabled Bi-Xenon for the low beams to function properly with the brights on.
Enabled LED for the fogs and other lighting

Oh wow ok, ya please let us know exactly what settings are needed just for the HIDs to work without the relay harness
