I have the weathertech but they really need to be an inch wider to better protect the running boards

A previous comment mentioned DuraFlaps and I’ve run them on three truck, including my current 2019 2500. There is no better mud flap on the market IMO.

Just checked them out. Kinda pricey without seeing them in person at $200 a set. And with stock tired which ones do you choose?
You get what you pay for. And it’s still a no drill install. I’ve always called them and explained what I’m looking for. They’re extremely helpful and I never ordered the wrong thing by calling them up for a little consult.

I went with a wider flap to get more coverage. You can get normal width ones that don’t stick out from the fender. But you can see they perfectly cover my 6” Lund step bars.

Just to add to my previous comment, the Ram heavy duty ones only require drilling the rear inner plastic fender well that's it, and it's only 1 hole to support the inner side of the mud flap, every other mount point is thru screw already in the fender from the factory. The only exception is the very top on the front. The holes there, just nothing to screw to so I used a body push pin readily available in the automotive hardware bins at Lowes.

As for protection, the way they wrap up the fender they protect the truck from slop being slung up along the body. I had the hard / molded style on my F150. My step boards / tubes would still get snow covered near the drivers door. These protect the majority of my step boards, so regardless of how much snow and slop I know that when I go to step out the step board / tubes are going to be relatively clean and clear, i.e. I don't slip or get muddy. If you look close at the profile photo below you can see how far up they reach. And that they stick out about an inch to protect the sides and step tubes. They also substantially decrease the mess we get in the lower front door jams.

My answer to mudflaps or not is definitely Yes. As for warranty paying for your mudflap, warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship, not failures from outside influences which the curb certainly is.

Gatorback Mud Flaps have a limited lifetime warranty. This warranty covers the rubber (e.g. tear offs) for the lifetime of the product to the original owner. It does not cover damage caused by abuse, or regular wear and tear on brackets, plates, or mounting hardware.

One day a driver backed into a snow bank and ripped this mud flap off his tractor.....bracket and all! I don't think he even realized he did it. Never picked it up, so I took it home and split it in half. I made a cardboard template to locate the stock screws to drill it out, adding 1 screw into the fender liner to hold the top. Took me about an hour to mock up, and they are one of the better, and cheapest, mods I have made so far. Now I just have to get something for the front.

I'm pretty sure the warranty is not going to cover the mudflap if it gets torn off from hitting something. When they say it covers the rubber that probably means if the rubber itself was defective. Like if it randomly cracked or split. But a tear off or damage from tires or striking an object will probably fall under abuse and not be covered. I could be wrong but i'm willing to bet if you call and ask they will clarify that hitting a curb, snowbank, rock etc that rips the mudflap off your truck is not considered a defect in the product and will not be covered.

EDIT: I just read Gatorbacks warranty. It actually says "EX- Tear Offs" (EX- Means Excluding) not "e.g." as you wrote. That's a big difference. So no, if you tear one off it's not under warranty.

Well again you're incorrect because it was. New drivers side flap put back on covered under warranty and didn't have to pay for labour. Not even sure what you guys are arguing with me about this. You can go to the Gatorback site and says exactly that... E.G tear offs, so no i didn't edit I just copied and paste it but feel free to change my post all you want. :)

My 2011 RAM came with those little plastic stone guards. All those things do is trap dirt and in my area Winter road salt between the plastic and the truck body. I pulled them off and installed Husky mud guards. Even with my 295-60-R20s they do a great job protecting the running boards and the body.

I have the plastic Ram ones....You don't notice them on the truck really. It does keep the rock chips away and it helps to stop the wheel spray from making the sides of the truck dirty. They are not heavy duty units but for my street use they are decent.

I just put on a set of Husky Mud Guards.100% recommend the use of them to protect the paint, road splatter and mud/snow off the power running boards.

No issue with Husky flaps. Easy to install. Better pricing than Weathertech.

I just had one of my Gatorback flaps tear of going over a curb.... Was expressly pissed it happen, they should be covered under warranty but had them bought from factory so who knows if they will replace it. But I see A LOT of trucks lifted with nothing on and that id my end goal so Just take them off or get it replaced?
100% covered by lifetime warranty. I ripped one last fall off roading and replaced it no questions asked. Keep the plate off the bottom and the rubber will be replaced.

If you take them off PUT ON 3M paint protector.

It is also good for door sills.
