Hi all,

I am going to be changing out my muffler (again) and wondering what will happen if I move it back about 18" from where my current muffler is located? Will this effect potential cabin drone?

I have a 2018 1500 CC Bighorn (Hemi) with a Borla Pro XS (SI/DO) w/ resonators and 5" tips. I believe the Borla is about 19" long. I am switching out to a Spintech Pro Street 9000XL which is only 9" long. I'm thinking of having my muffler guy put some extension piping in front of the muffler to move it back towards the rear about 18" or so since it's much shorter. I don't have any drone with the Borla, but no idea what will happen with the Spintech. Thinking that moving it back some could potentially help.

Also my tips currently stick out from the rear bumper about an inch. I've heard this also helps to eliminate drone, but I really don't like how it looks. Will I notice any difference if I have the tips moved back so they are more or less flush with the bumper?

Thanks for your input.

Yes the further back the better.
It the past I always had custom exhaust work instead of buying a kit and my muffler guy said he always pushed them back fir less drone in the cab.

I hope not....going to find out though. Most people with Spintech mufflers say they don't have much cabin noise or drone. I'm hoping this is the case.

Thanks...I thought I had read this in some of the threads on exhaust. I will have the muffler shop put this new muffler as far back as makes sense.
