It Does have the pump. I got the pump ordered from mopar with my Trucks vin number and motor number. Also if you actually look at the page i posted from the shop maunal it says right there 2013 and later 1500 models. Mopar uses vin number to verify fitment.. So who ever said it doesn't have one is wrong. Also my AC does have is lower funtion. You are right about it controling other funtions as well. Again.. I know this is the issue and it is for my truck. Just trying to see where it is. Please look threw the intire thread if your goong to comment because most of what people are saying i have alredy talked about or shown.. Thanks
I read through the entire thread. I saw your picture of the service manual, which that only applies to the 3.6/3.0. On the 3.6 the pump is located on the front of the engine underneath the air intake assembly which is what the manual is referring to.
Whoever sold you it didn’t do their job. I can look up parts through FCA and on your truck a vacuum pump is only available for the 3.6. It does not apply and is grayed out on the 5.7.
Look at your brake booster. It only has 1 hose going to it, which goes to the manifold port. If you had a vacuum pump the hose would have another port on it, that comes from the vacuum pump. If it had the pump all you would do is follow the hose.
Your HVAC system is completely electronic. The only thing the vacuum pump does on equipped trucks is keep proper vacuum present in the booster during high engine RPM which creates little vacuum. Due to the engine/variable cam timing of the 3.6 the pump is required.
Grab a scan tool and you’ll see you have no data for a vacuum pump like the 3.6 would.
Your truck does not have it. You can gut your truck all you want but you won’t find it.
If you see my post above #18, it appears you don't have a vacuum pump with the 5.7. that's coming from two Ram/Dodge service techs(Tach_tech and my buddy)... vs the rest of us shade tree/armchair mechanics...lolIt Does have the pump. Because when people havent hear of it or seen it before they assume its wrong. I know what im doing. Was just looking for advice on location... Sorry no one could help, thanks for all your guys responces any ways.
Follow those vacuum lines. If there is a vacuum pump it’s at the end of those hoses. If you find one share with everyone else please that way if there are random trucks with vacuum pumps we shall find outIll have the invoce with my vin on it so again thoes techs are wrong. Zero proof meaing the one that has it at the junk yard think im going to tear apart (not my truck) you mean Dodge parts internationally who have produced 1000s of 5.7lts with it. Or you just mean you want to be right when your wrong. Im confused... Lmao. Ill post like i said when i do later this week. Then you will have your proof and show everyone else that may need it too. To help them and not talk ****. Lol
There are more than one. The line you saw was the manifold vaccume directly to the check valve then to the booster. There are also vaccume lines that go to back behind the motor that come off of the manifold as well that i have to investigate. Im not dismissing anything i just know what i have done my self and the documents, parts people, dealers ect that i have dealt with and already talked to about it. Like i said ill find it. Im guessing its mounted to the frame or behind the motor. Im going to mopar Direct tomorrow before the junk yard. Talked to a guy that said he could show me where its at.
