Hey guys, I have a story.....
I took my truck into a shop a few days ago to get a buddy of mine to change the oil and check a couple things (squeaky belt, and a exhaust rattle in low RPM).
Anyways, I had Synthetic oil in there before, and they had put reg 5w20 in it because he said ya Synthetic is nice, its not needed and if I don't want to pay $$$ for it, the 5w20 works just fine. So I went ahead with the 5w20.
They then lubed my belt to stop the annoying squeak, and then put some clamp on my exhaust he said that was causing the annoying rattle.
So. I fire it up on the way home and immediately notice the squeal is gone (score), then notice the exhaust rattle is gone (double score!) So driving around doing some errands and noticed it felt a little strange...So i took her for a rip on the highway and decided that (could be my imagination i don't know...) but the throttle response was a little S**tty, not only that but I put my foot into it to wake it up and it felt almost gutless. A gutless hemi?? I think somethings wrong, or my imagination is playing tricks on me...Not only that but I did notice when I originally fired it up at the shop that it/the engine/and or the exhaust was much quieter. I mean I used to fire it up and it had a nice low Hemi growl to her....now its quiet. Quiet as a kitten....
I am assuming Synthetic oil doesn't have that sort of affect? MY buddy is a good guy and wouldn't do any screwing around with my truck. Ive decided ill go in on the weekend and talk to him see if he did anything else he didn't mention, or if he has thoughts or suggestions..
Anyways thats my story. Any thoughts or suggestions?
