So, I'm pretty set to get a 18" MF. I'd like to have it delivered and ready to put on when I get home from Afghaniland. Moe's has a MF with the pipes already, ready to just throw on, but it's $300. Is paying that worth it, or should I take it to a muffler shop? I haven't done exhaust before, so I dunno what sort of prices I should expect.

I bought the muffler for 100 and had it welded on for 100. Its a nice job but with the bolt on you can always unbolt and go back to stock or a straight pipe if you want more volume. I have the 14 magnaflow, sometimes i wish it was louder and sometimes i wish it was quieter but its mostly good.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought about being able to go back stock. Have you had any issues with drone with the 14? I've heard people say that the 24s don't drone, but they are so quiet. May as well stay stock. I thought the 18 would be a nice middle ground. My elderly neighbors would probably hate me for the 14s too....

I got the 18 welded on and it is great. I have very little to no drone and it sounds awesome when I get on the throttle.

My 18" is welded on as well.
and I think is sounds awesome - but I am also elderly. :)

the 18" is noticable, but not obnoxious.

Do you have dual exhaust already?

How much did that run you Razzaa?

100$ for the muffler and I found a shop to do it for 75$. If I want to go back to stock one day, which I don't think I would. I could get it cut off and stock put back on.

I watched the guy install it and he was very picky about everything he did. Payed extra attention to detail. Adjusted my tips, triple checked the welds. I have had it for a month and it sounds better everyday. Just make sure you reset your PCM after so it can adjust to the increased airflow.

Reset the PCM eh? I hadn't heard anything about that. What happens if you don't?

I know when adding a CAI it can throw a CEL. When I was speaking with the service manager from my dealership he told me its a good idea to reset it when adding mods. It allows it to adjust to the changes. I have also read on here that most guys do the same. I don't know if it makes a difference or not. I do know that it is just a matter of disconnecting your negative terminal for 30mins or more. I havw had no CEL issues so I continue to do it when I add mods. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in.
