Good off took the clear off? I use 3M adhesive remover which body shops use. Kerosene and WD-40 works as well. The 3M stuff is the best I've ever used though.

I removed mine last month and got from a auto paint supply store what is called an "Eraser Wheel". You chuck it up in a hand held drill and its like a big eraser taking off the glue/stickers/etc without removing the paint. You CAN remove the paint tho if your not careful and sit in one spot. I've used the eraser wheel on many rigs.

What I couldn't get off of mine with Goo Gone and a plastic scraper, wore off after a couple washes.

I second the eraser wheel. Any left over residue can be removed with lacquer thinner on a shop rag. It's a bit harsh, but I use it all the time on urethane clears without problems.
