Need some muffler help guys!

As the title says i need some help with my exhaust setup.

I need to quiet it down a LOT! The Cops here are being Nazis right now and its hurting my wallet. Ive taken care of my lights and now my truck is 2 loud...

Here is my setup

Pacesetter LT Headers
Pacesetter ORY Pipe
NO CATS
CB Extreme
2.5" Exhaust Pipe
4" Tips


An electric Cutout is first on my list and as i said i just need some muffler help.

I had the same problem. Well similar, I needed to quiet it down bc I don't want a deaf kid. Anyway, put on the magnaflow listed in my sig and it is super quiet now but still has a nice tone.

My XR-1 is quiet til you stomp on it. The cutout is just a little bit louder not by much but just enough to tell a difference. If you really want to quiet it down, put the cats back on. I ended up doing that cause it was way to loud and I hated the smell of the exhaust without them. I think it tamed things just enough to still be loud but no obnoxiously loud

Truckin i understand the cats would quiet it down its just i dont have them anymore and id rather pay $107 for a muffler than $140 for cats .

Yeah but teach still has cats on his as well, so you will still be louder than his is.regardless of what you do you will still be louder because of the missing cats.

I understand that and i still want it to be loud just not loud enough to **** people off.

could you put a cut out in and run a stock like muffler and then you could leave your system in tack

get rid of that stupid ridiculously loud cherry bomb, it just screams when I hear those damn things drive by. A magnaflow would sound nice or you could go with the Turbine 3030xl

Whatever you end up doing, get an e-cutout in there so you have the loud option too. It is nice to be able to open it up every now and then and set off some car alarms.

This what I have on my truck, it is priced right, sounds great (smooth quality sounds) Gets loud at WOT, flows better than Flowmaster. I am very picky about sound and am very happy with it. Also, the pipes on mine are dumped at the rear.

If you are building the whole exhuast system I recommend you move the muffler as far back as you can to give room up front for Y pipe and headers.

im just using the same magnaflow that i had before... its the 18" si/do. i have enough room for headers, y, and cutout but i'm having a hell of a time finding a shop around here to connect the y to the cutout to the muffler.. theres only one local shop that can do 3''

Suprisingly enough, mine is not that much louder with the cutout open vs closed. Only difference is with it open its a little deaper in tone.

Oh man, there is a huge difference between cutout closed and cutout open with my setup all the way from idle through WOT.

There is a difference at WOT but it is very minimal as to the sound with my setup its like night and late night. Need to get asound clip cause I don't find it very loud or that much different from one to the other.

Yeah, get a sound clip. If open and closed are both the same you might as well sell the cutout and put the money toward another mod.
