I’m not even understanding what you’re talking about, or what type of window sticker scam you were running (what, 30 years ago?), but your not pulling off simply switching window stickers around on a vehicle nowadays, no matter how big of a conspiracy theorist you are.
Sorry did not see your post.
Noticed someone else, reply to it but could not see it myself.
Seems I have already placed you on my Ignore List.
Here goes, yes, I last in a dealership, over 30 years ago.
To this day, have gobs of family, and friends, who still do work in dealerships, either as Owners or upper management.
My Finger is still on the pulse, one could say.
There is no Conspiracy. No Theory. No VIN Changeing.
All that is changed is the MSRP.
What s on changed on that MSRP is, usually, but not in all cases, the selling dealer and or the price.
Prices go up, MSRP needs to change. Kind of pump price at a gas station or price of a shirt, at teh store.
Mrk downs are advertised as rebates,or kept hidden, dealero nly , so deaelr can allow more for that **** trade in allowance.
Truck in question, by original selling dealer may have been meant for dealer x, but dealer Y ends up with it.
Now, in almost all circumstances, it is simply shipped off with original dealer listed on VIN and is called a dealer trade.
Dealer X ships off the truck to dealer Y. Deaelr reciprocates with similar value priced unit, to dealer X.
they swap cars adn h old back.
Sometimes, rare but it des happen, there is no trade or swapping of cars, form one dealer, to th next dealer.
Reason this is rare is due to whats know as hold back. Built in exra profit for the dealer, who originally got the car or truck.
that is why all advertisements proclaimin Dealer Invoice pricing carry a small disclaimer,
Invoice does not reflect actual dealer price.
Becasue it si NOT actual dealer price.
teh Factory keeps a little bit back, for the dealer.
In a perfect world, this acts a buffer. =for the interest charged on teh dealers floor plan form time car got to his dealership to time it left as a sold unit.
Most dealers, even today and huge conglemoreates, sue soemoen elses money, not their own.
that way, if they lose it all, they still have their money. Little bit of ink on a piece of legalize and the debt goes away and they keep their cash.
I would love to delve further into this topic but cannot give an lifetimes of knowledge, in this limited space, when i do nto know how to type.
No need to reply, I will not see it and, now that i know wht soemoens rely to what appears to be empty space actually is, will no longer look further.
that space is empty , for a reason.
