Hey guys, new to the forums and looking for some advice on brakes. I use my truck to haul travel trailers and 5th wheels. is anyone familiar with the Power stop Z36 brake kit? includes rotors and pads front and rear for around $700. Thanks for the input and recommendations guys!!

Here's a link to the brake kit.

After my headache with them Its hard for me to promote their product... If you don't need calipers go with the EBC rotors and pads.

My truck does stop a little better with the Powerstop calipers (Revamped OEM) Summit crossdrilled rotors and ceramic pads but the process with Powerstop and one of their caliper seals leaked and took them 4-5 weeks to send me a replacement...

After that and talking to alot of stores that sell them they told me they have had alot of complaints with their calipers and rotors. Honestly I'm surprised by this since they are so heavily promoted by some big name vendors and tv shows. but from my experience with them they will never get my business again. hopefully it was just a fluke but they didn't do anything to rectify the situation or even apologize for the inconvenience. Summit Racing did and took care of everything though.

I understand going with the drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads, I did. Why are you replacing the calipers? Are they better than stock, how may pistons and are they larger calipers with larger rotors?

This kit is basically OEM refinished calipers with "upgraded" hardware.

The same goal can be met with replacement rotors and pads for alot cheaper. I think the EBC kit is $350ish.

my rotors from summit aren't anything special, and they were $120 for the pair and pads were $50 or $60. Big brake kits are some serious $$$$$$

I had nothing but trouble with Powerstop on another vehicle. I can't recommend them either. I'd say give EBC a good hard look.

On a different brake subject, you do have a brake controller installed right?

Thanks for the input guys. I don't need calipers, the kit I would get would be the first one for 619. Front and rear pads and rotors. I'm just looking for something that will give me a little bit more bite when I'm towing. My truck is equipped with the factory brake controller but all the trailers I haul are brand new and the brakes don't work very well. I'll look into EBC thanks guys!

If you do decide on the powerstop z36, check out rockauto for pricing. I purchase most of my parts from there.
