U were probably a pita to the original dealer and they flagged you. Once the manufacturer has expended the value of your vehicle in warranty cost they can legally say, you are on your own. I think there is a bit of hypochondria syndrome going on with this situation.... ie, you are looking for a reason to keep bringing it back in. Recommendation: Go buy a Chevy....

Sounds crazy huh? How can an oil fix this, even a new engine didn't work, lol. In fact it might or might not work, but I'd put money it will help. Do us a favor, keep the redline thread in my sig up to date with results, and vote only after at least 500 miles on new oil. I'm looking forward to result either way, and I'm hoping it helps. if it doesn't help vote that way, if it kills the tick vote that way, if it makes it better but still come tick vote that way, just keep accurate info is all i ask. Nick at got exhaust sells it cheap, you will want to be slightly over full on dip stick. Most guys running 7.5 quarts with the 20-820 royal purple filter. that combo is a tick killer.\

Make sure high performance oil and NOT professional series.

It's in my sig...

If it is a high mileage ram the success rate goes down.
I am the exception to the high mileage rule..... i did not start using Redline until about 150,000 miles..... took most of the hemi tick or rattle clatter away however it would come and go a little bit... absolutely way better than it was before the change at 150,000...... now at 224,500 miles i just did another Redline change and Wix filter and added the Lubegard Biotech additive ..... after about 1,000 miles all of the clatter and lifter ticking is 90 to 95% gone.

High Performance versus professional grade?

High Performance is everything we have come to understand the hemi needs when it is in a tick condition, ester/pao base oil with super high moly. Plus many other desirables such as detergent and other aw/ep additives.

Professional grade has none of it, no moly, and no esters. It is over priced oem oil, and in fact some others like kirkland oil has a way better additive package. This oil is not really redline's fault, it was born when 66 bought redline and they poached redline's good name and stuck it on this inferior oil. But, it does serve a purpose for guys who like redline but want an oem cert oil. I however will never buy it.

At this point i dont hear the dreaded tick anymore on startup, while idling, and at the Dunkin drive through....LOL
I am not saying it is fixed long term but my motor has a lot of miles on it and i have towed an open dump trailer and a closed cargo trailer with it to NC several times and Florida a few times..... I'm happy and a believer. This combo is going into my new Jeep as well.....
