I'm new here, but I have a technical question. I have a 2017 with a 5.7 hemi. The oil was not changed regularly, and as a result, the timing chain broke. I assume that it is an interference engine, so there would be bent valves etc.
The question is, would a 2012 charger 5.7 be a good candidate for an engine swap? If any, what are the differences? I would like to delete the dod. Is that possible?

If you've got a charger 5.7 sitting in your back pocket that you can drop in for next to free, I think it will work but perhaps @Wild one can confirm that.

I'm with @diymirage though, I would 10/10 go to a 6.4 swap.
