If you are ordering and have a choice then I agree with 4.10's. Mileage difference will be minimal and probably not even noticeable. I average 12.2 hand calculated since I got mine 12,000 miles ago. My fuelly is linked below. The 8 speed will likely get slightly better than mine does.

My dealer asked how much I wanted to put down. He never mentioned a number, but I was in a position to pay for it entirely when it showed up, so I gave them $20k. I'm a contractor, so customer deposits are commonplace (especially on something custom).

I tow a similar trailer to yours with my '19 1500 laramie and it tows fine. a 28' 6000# freedom express.. I only have 1324# cargo cap but you should have more being it is a lower trim level..I can set cruise for 68-69 and have no trouble..I am also looking for a gas 2500 but only because my wife wants to take more gear such as kayaks and so on or I would just keep my laramie because it is great to drive when not towing..the 2500 gassers are in slim supply unless you want a tradesman..since it is not really a good time for camping yet, I am just waiting and looking till supply is back up and dealers are more motivated to sell.

Very true, my 4.10 geared truck gets the same economy as my 3.73 truck did
