Alright guys I just bought a sub box for under the rear seats, it's an atrend box with 2 12" jbl subs 1000 watt max each. I have a few amps I could put in. I'm wondering, how much did it cost to get it installed? I know how to wire subs and amp but in going to keep my stock radio and don't want to crack into that wiring. So if anyone has had a shop do it, how much did it cost? Please any help would be greatly appreciated!

do it yourself and go on crutchfield and order a wireing harness they are like ten dollars and it makes your life so much easier.

but if you take it to a shop they will most likely charge you 100 or 200 dollars we took my brothers truck to car toys and they installed his door speakers and headunit for like 400$ and thats ridiculous i mean im 16 and i hhoked up my door speakers headunit amp and subs in about 6 hours thats running all new wiring and everythin so its not that hard

I know how to do it all, but I feel much better if a pro did it and tapped into the stock wiring harness and everything, if something goes wrong I have somebody to blame lmao

I would think calling your local shop(s) and asking them this exact question would be worth your time....then there would be zero surprises

Everything is negotiable just do it before they start work on your car lol. Last time I priced it out it was basically the cost of the LOC and the amp install kit I let them put in. I know I paid more than I had to for the supplies but they didn't hose me to bad on the install which was around $150 if I remember right.

You might want to figure out which amo you're going to use in case the inputs have a specific requirement, or maybe it has high level inputs?
Look at RMS ratings when figuring out what to use though- forget about max ratings altogether. that being said, having some headroom on the RMS rating is always a good thing considering no amp is 100% efficient, so if you feed a 500W RMS sub with an amp which is rated for 500W it will not see its true RMS rating matched.

whhy dont you use a lockpic? this means no hacking your factory harness, and allows you to add 4 channels rca pre-amp out from factory radio, plus if you have in dash dvd and or navi, it unlocks all features.
