Hi everyone,

Just recently joined. I had a 2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and really liked it, but felt we needed something bigger and we got a 2018 2500 with the Cummins engine.

My question, when we come to a stop the truck jerks and makes a pop! It's not all the time but seems more now that its getting colder, but it only does it when coming to a stop. It doesn't happen when we first start. I checked the fluid and it shows low so I will add more fluid when I get to my local dealer. Don't know if I described it correctly, but it's a rough shift into 1st.

I know what you are describing. Like it hangs up sitting into 1. I drained the trans and refilled with red line trans fluid and it stopped doing that. That was at about 40k and it's been another 40k since the chance and I have never heard it since

How many miles on the truck? My 18 Cummins 2500 does not do that. 23K miles now.

Thanks for the reply! It has 37k on it now. Trans was low so I added fluid. It seems better, but still jerks when stopping and going into 1st.

You should still have your drive train warranty in force. I'd take it to a dealer. It should not be low on fluid or shifting that way.

Anyone know if the 100,000 mile transfers to the 2nd owner?

It did on my 18. I bought it in April of this year with 14K on it. I actually got some extra tacked on since mine was a certified pre-owned, but the factory warranties transferred too.

Factory warranties stay with the truck.

My 1500 did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and they reflashed the ecu and that addressed it.

Not sure if that will work or not in your case, but either way I'd say take her in.

Hi @Ghornet54 - We certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you are not able to determine a solution based on suggestions from fellow forum members and you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, please be sure to follow up with us via private message. We would be more than willing to escalate your situation to a specialist who can work alongside you and your dealer while your truck is in service.
