Fram Ultra has higher efficiency than any of the filters mentioned thus far, wire backed media, etc. Donaldson, Baldwin and Stratapore are also excellent in terms of both efficiency, construction quality. Boss has quite poor efficiency as does Wix (in comparison).

I ran the Wix XP and received great results from the oil analysis. Not sure how much that has to do with the filter! I've also ran the Bosch Distance Plus with good results. Currently, I have the Purolator BOSS..we'll see how that works!

I've been using PP 5w-20 in each instance.

My vote goes to Wix since I've been using their filters in many vehicles for many years without issue.
MOPAR..Why anything else??

Wix XP.....

I actually think they are better than RP.

Checkout some of the comparison videos on YouTube. Below is a link to one:

But what about the efficiency of the filter? There website doesn't show anything and I found some data on BITOG that I don't think is that impressive. RP, Amsoil, Fram synthetic, Mobil 1 synthetic are way better at filtering than Wix.

I've used Mobil 1 extended performance filters and Mobil 1 extended performance synthetic oil in my last two trucks (both RAM) and the engines run smooth as silk ... no complaints ...

Not sure if there is a ranking list of brands. Mostly wondering what the best oil filter I can get that Advance Auto provides, the royal purple isn't an option. Are the differences on the high end pretty minuscule and more of a brand preference (K&N vs Mobil1 Extended vs PurolatorBOSS)?

I have been using Mopar oil filters and Quaker State Ultimate Durability on my 2004 Dodge Ram since it was new. I change oil between 3-4 thousand miles. The engine runs great at 94,000 miles. No hemi tick. I don't like the idea of extended oil use. The most important thing is to use quality clean oil and your engine will run for many miles.

MOPAR..Why anything else??

Well, MOPAR doesn't make oil filters. They contract with other companies to have the right to sell their filters under the MOPAR name. Same thing with house brand filters, like the ones you find at auto parts stores. The issue I have with that is that MOPAR doesn't use the same supplier year over year, they simply will contract with the lowest bidder for a given period of time. The filter MOPAR uses simply needs to meet specs provided by MOPAR to the manufacturer.

I prefer to stick with proven brands like Wix or RP. I haven't heard or seen negative reviews about their filters.

I think the srt filter is a step up though.

I believe you're correct. To clarify, there's nothing wrong with Mopar filters. I just prefer to use name brands. That's just my pure preference

Same here and I use the same exact combination Wix filter with PP 5/20 and truck runs and sounds smooth
