Sometimes a different person operating the balance machine can have a big difference in the outcome.

Experience and giving a **** will make a difference.

Just trying to make quitting time , type guys not so good.

Fair enough, but 35oz to balance a tire is wayyyy unacceptable!
This sounds as bad as the BFG KO2's when it comes to weight to balance requirements.

Heck, my 35" Michelin LTX M/S Load E was max, 2.5oz on one rime to balance the tire.
The least was 0.75oz on one.
Not 35lb to balance, this is the road force machine result. To balance the tire < 3oz added.

35lb to balance any tire is way off, not even possible I guess

I scheduled a suspension/drive train inspection in the local ram dealership and nothing wrong found except for the tires out of balance.
Went back to discount tires and had all road force balanced again, this time (for any reason) the results were better. All tires are below the limit.
After a test ride, I feel it improved a lot, no more vibration at low speeds and I only feels a little vibration around 70mph, if I go 3-4 miles below or above I have no vibration. I believe it’s more a frequency thing than a tire issue (if it makes sense)

This is my first truck, I’m now convinced that I cannot expect the same smooth ride I have in wife’s SUV in a HD off-road truck with big AT/hybrid tires (correct?)
Not true at all.

I currently have toyo rt trails on my power wagon, 35x12.5/17’s. They are heavy as hell. I had them installed several years ago at discount tire and have put 40 or 50 thousand miles on them by now (i would have to look in the glovebox for exact mileage). Anyway, they are half worn or more, and i have never once had them rebalanced. Done several rotations in my garage over the years, but never rebalanced. The reason for not rebalancing is they still ride great…no vibrations from 0-100mph.

I was just commenting to my passengers yesterday about it. Going down the road at 60 mph and had no hands on the steering wheel…truck was just tracking perfectly straight, no shaking or anything.

Not to mention, i just recently siped and grooved all the tires to help with winter traction.

With good quality tires and proper installation, there should be no vibrations, even with bigger (37”/38”) aggressive tires.

Not true at all, only time I've had vibration issues with the ride on HD vehicles there is usually issues with the tires. Even on my EcoD that has Load E rated AT tire, it rolls smooth down the road even at 80-90 mph.

I would have the one tire that's road force balance is on the high, have the rim run out checked and/or see if the place you bought the tires will replace that tire.

Does that vibration go away uphill? If so, you may be feeling the MDS a bit. Some trucks it's more noticeable than others and it kicks on under low loads. Some people are also more sensitive to it.

My old truck, you couldn't feel MDS at all, but the 8 speed trucks seem to be a bit more sensitive to it for whatever reason.

I have had 2 sets of 35in Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my Jeep. The first set balanced easy and no problem. The 2nd set, about 2yrs ago, wouldn't not balance without a crap load of weights added. Removed the weights and installed a bag of balance beads in each tire and was a smooth ride after that. I think that Nitto has been slacking in there quality of tire lately.

My 2014 1500 rides much better and less road noise the the Honda CRV we have, thou the honda is older 2008. A 2500 will be different.
but it is a sport, so no off road stuff and standard hi way tires.

I bought a set of tires few yrs back, and balance was terriable on them. piles of weights added.
even in town you could feel shakes that where not there before.
I made them pull all those off, and went with different brand and no problem.

I would look at the wheels, but if it was good with the old tires, likely not the problem.
