Hello. I am changing my brake lines and I noticed that at the HCU, there is no fluid coming out. Is this normal? I only took one line off and thought I would check before proceeding. Thanks

The last owner let the pads go to metal, until the front drivers over heated and locked up. When I take the caliper off, there was no fluid coming out of the line. Changing the whole drivers side system.... lines, caliper, rotor, pads. I need to know if it is normal for the brake line going from the caliper, to the HCU. There is no fluid coming out of the unit. Is it OK to put it all back together, then bleed?

You will need to re bleed your system have someone press petal while you open bleeder on caliper plenty of YouTube vids on how to do this make sure you keep the master cylinder full.

brakes are hydraulic, no fluid at the caliper, no brakes period. If the master cylinder tank was full, you have problems. Might need a flash anyhow, or a dealer clear the anti lok.

Master cylinder was full. Passenger line bled easily with my vacuum bleeder. Driver side, I can't get any fluid out. Bone dry.

The guy before me ran the pads so far down it needed new pads and rotors. Driver side needed new lines. I replaced the calipers as well. Bled the passenger side great. Driver side still has no fluid at the bleeder

Make sure you didn't twist the caliper hose when reassembling. That will cut off supply to that caliper while not affecting the others.

I replaced line and hose. The problem is, is, there wasn't any fluid coming out of (what I believe) is the HCU. Nor were there any in the hose or line.

You should of started your own thread. I don't see what year truck or anything. On many trucks if the line was run dry, you have to press the pin in and hold the valve open to get fluid to pass the proportioning valve. You can probably find a YouTube video on it. Your bypass valve may be stuck closed not letting fluid get through to the rear lines.
But like I said I don't know what year you're working on .

You might need a "scanner" that will bleed the anti lock portion of the brake system.
