I have a Ram 1500 Single Cab Tradesman with the 5.7. It has a single exit exhaust and I would like to know how to get a better deeper but not extremely loud sound for not a ton of money. I ask this because I don't know very much about exhaust systems. Thanks!

Search on YouTube for the sound you like. Buy muffler with same size inlet and outlet as stock. Take a muffler you buy online or from a vendor to a local exhaust shop and have them weld it in. Much cheaper that way. Does the single exhaust have resonators?

You can do a muffler swap. You'll need a single in 3" and single out 3" muffler of your choice. Take your muffler to a shop and they will swap it.

Is there any kind of muffler you would recommend?

I believe all of the engines have resonators regardless of whether it is single or dual. I know all of the Hemi's do.

It's all personal preference, what I like you may not. Popular ram mufflers are Magnaflow 14" and 18", flowmaster 40, 44, 50HD, cherry bomb extreme.

Best bet is to YouTube Ram hemi exhaust until you find what you like.

I just got a flowmaster 44 on my hemi, it's loud. Very deep but the tone is so low it gives me a headache at times. Lol. I'm prob gonna swap mine out for a magnaflow 18.

Try An MBRP! I have a whole cat back and IMO it sounds amazing! Deep and mean at idle, nice rumble while driving, but when you lay into it...you'll know! Lol

So there will be a good sound difference if I change only the muffler?

Absolutely. The muffler on there looks like it belongs on a bus.

I like my stainless works. You can get them by themselves.

I have a complete Stainless Works exhaust, headers and all, and hate the way the mufflers sound. I'm currently looking to change them.
Look into the Aero Turbine AT3030. They make an AT3030XL model, which is a little quieter. Search for it on Youtube and hear it. Very deep sound without being too loud, plus it's a 3" in 3" out muffler.
I had one on mine before the system I have now and I loved it.

If you want more power plus better tone its all about the flow of the exhaust. Long tube headers with deleted cats with true duel exhausted follow by no muffler.

Just put a Jones full boar performance 409SS 3" in and dual 2.25" out, 18" case and 24" total length on my 2014 5.7 hemi. They are slightly better than MagnaFlow and this one fit the stock exhaust. At idle it's low and at cruise it's louder than stock but has no resonance. I love there mufflers and have 2 of the 3" in and out on my duals on my show race car with a 521 and love them also.

Best part is they are cheap, $45 for a muffler that's 409SS and flows better and sounds better than magnaflow. It's a straight through design with perforated tube filled with sound deadening material. I left everything stock with the resonators and it's the perfect tone. Not obnoxious and not loud at idle but get on it and she purrs!

You had me excited until I found out that the only 3.5" in and out muffler they make cost more the magnaflow muffler.
