OEM Sub technical questions

I dont have one to examine myself but, just a couple things Im hoping to clarify. The oem sub is dvc right? And are the signals feeding the factory sub filtered for lows or is the oem amp just an amp and not doing any dsp functions?

I saw where someone said how the head units between the Alpine and non Alpine systems were identical, so it got me to wondering.
