My catch can got here today, wouldn't you know it, it's pouring down rain. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it installed. I got the Billet one from Moe's, let me tell you pictures don't do it justice. This is one fine piece of equipment.

I dumped the occ on my wife's 16 Challenger yesterday 2,300 miles of 98% freeway miles @ about 70 - 80 mph .

About 3 oz.
Strange thing is my truck would've been 6-8 oz ?

Ronnie,
Why do you think there is that much difference?

I'm not sure , maybe my PCV sticks open sometimes ?

Everything I've read is highway miles @ a steady speeds should cause very little venting through the crankcase vent .

I've never been an aggressive driver , but my truck seems to vent more than others ?

A few weeks ago we got back from a 1700 mile road trip and when I emptied mine is was about 1/2 full. Mostly highway driving but some city and mountains also.

I find my CC full after 3K all-around miles, or a 1,500 mile highway road trip.
Just checked Saturday after a shorter trip and it was only 1/3 full.

Still wouldn't want any of that yilch (funky milkshake) going down my intake. :licklips:

Just a quick question, where the can screws into the base there looks like there's a filter/ strainer there. Does that need any periodic maintenance, or just empty the can and keep on trucking? Haven't been able to find any info that even mentions this.

I've cleaned mine once , I used 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean mine .

I believe most dump & keep on trucking.

Hind sight is 20/20, I never thought to look to see if that could be disassembled. Did you take yourself apart or just back flush it?

Remember when you put the can on, it doesn't have to be torqued at 150. Hand tight is good enough. When you tighten it too much it's a ***** to loosen up. Ask me how I know------:naughty:

Finally decided to do my first CC dump on the Ram. This is a little over 2k miles. I waited for the can before I got that Pennz dinosaur **** out and put real oil in it. So I've actually just rolled 3k. Kind of disappointed in the amount of blow by on this 5.7. Neither the OEM or built 6.1 in my Jeep are|were anywhere near this bad. Even after twice that mileage, I might have a 1/4 of that amount. That was before and after the blowers.

Pull Ya mentioned not tightening the cup too much. Agreed, but I found the stock billet cup was much worse about this. Picked up a small strap wrench which made it easy to remove. But the clear cup, especially the newer style (in the pic), doesn't have this problem. The knurled knob on bottom makes it simple, even if you do tighten it too much. Highly recommended if BT ever does any more production runs.

Actually,

Pennzoil yellow bottle (PYB) is a very highly regarded conventional oil. Its not your grandfathers PYB anymore.

It can be run at 3-4,000 miles with confidence for a long long time in a hemi.

Plenty of additive and strong TBN for a conventional
