Oil change light on early

Ok I changed my oil 2400 miles ago and reset the light as told to in the owners manual. Driving around tonight my oil change required light jut came on. What gives. It's way too early for a change.

I've learned to just ignore the oil change light on my truck. Mine comes on and off at random. I just write down my mileage when I change the oil and keep the note in my center console.

It goes of miles and months, has it been 6 mos?

Yeah I plan on clearing it but is there any way I can set it to come on at a mileage higher say 8k miles

There might be I don't know, but it doesn't take much to just clear it.
