How are K&N oil filters in comparison to that of WIX XP, FRAM and Bosch?
I don’t trust anyone after they’ve lied to me.
K&N is dishonest about what they promote. While the claim that their air filters will “boost” performance… they do that by failing to mention that they accomplish that by reducing filter effectiveness. An even BETTER “boost” of performance would occur with No Filter At All!
(A more-honest statement by them would be “K&N filters trap fewer harmful dirt particles because they have larger voids in the media.” … and “our filters get better and better the longer you leave them in-situ” …. (because, like most filters, the dirtier they get the more dirt they trap…. but, of course, that identical claim is also valid with every other mfr’s filters.)
None of their filtration products are as trustworthy as OEM and many higher-end aftermarkets such as Fleetguard, Purolater, and even Fram. I will trust ANY Fram before I ever will install a K&N.
