I'm gonna see if I can pic up an endurance tomorrow, I just wanna give it a try as my truck is sensitive to filters. It will be good news if my truck doesnt tick. If it's in stock, we'll see.
RPDirect has 820’s in stock. Just ordered my customary 9 to get free shipping.

This is the vehicles that take 20-820, lol. If you look at the years, it looks like going small with filters wasnt just a ram thing, perhaps industry wide. Why would the entire industry go smaller if that is what happened?? I guess they could have went bigger, but my guess is nobody thinks that happened. Build things to last 50k miles as policy = Jay Pan?

It is a safe bet fram ultra is NOT 100% synthetic, from their website compare it to endurance. Endurance they say 25k miles, they say nothing on ultra on first page, ouch. They do say 20k, I say no way.

You can see one white one is yellow.

Plus how they describe it...

  • Synthetic blend media provides 99%+ filtration efficiency
versus

  • Synthetic Microglass Media provides high efficiency filtration for your modern engine

The FRAM FE2 Synthetic Endurance looks to be a good filter as an alternative, if needed, for the Royal Purple 20-820 or the Amsoil AEO11. I've used the Amsoil AEO11 and it is identical to the FRAM FE2 Synthetic Endurance, again, IMHO I wouldn't hesitate using the FRAM FE2 Synthetic Endurance oil filter.

Speaking of RR filters…..I have about 12 to 15 RP 20-820’s for sale.

:naughty:
Toss em in the classifieds! Took a couple years for me to even buy one. I am stocked up now so that doesn't happen again haha.

Would have paid a pretty penny for one during covid. Which, to be fair a couple awesome local members did offer to sell me one during that time.

Next oil change fe2 going up, lol. I bought a pair at wallys for mine and wifes car/truck. Just curious if the tick will stay away with the less holes then rp, my hope is it will, I will update when it's on. I'm doing a large service brakes, plugs etc, this summer.

It isnt quite a clone, I see the fram is plastic not like amsoil ea/rp metal framing. Maybe I get a photo and post it, the wifes filter is the open ones.

You can see same loose thick media, from inside you can see through, which if you ask me is a good thing consider what the function is, to have oil flow through it. I just did my wifes car yesterday, so RP the plastic is metal, which I dont have any issue with. Yes RP is slightly better, but the media is the same and the plastic is likely good enough. If you are buying from walmart, make sure you open it first, people keep switching cheap filters with fe2, so many of the cartons have super tech filters in there and the sc um bags put the fe2 in the super tec box and purchased it.

Who has any 20-820 left??

Orielly's and summit? Orielly's is like 18.99, so are we at the point when we need to choose another best filter? Any other places with these in stock? Looks like rp direct is out, so here we go again. This time down for the count? we'll see.

Well, I just ordered 2 more RP 20-820 from O'Reilly, bringing me up to 4 20-820 and 1 20-500.
Driving about 6k-7k miles per year this ought to last a little while.

Now I just have to decide on oil. PUP 5w-20 vs RL 5w-30.
This should occur around May-June and a UOA will accompany.
I currently have PUP 5w-20 and RP 20-820 in the truck since 12/2023, no fuel or oil additives, just Sunoco 91 octane top tier.

This makes me a little nervous for you guys, just saying. I will try the fe2 ahead of my stock of rp's, it is the perfect test truck as it will tick if there is any restriction like it did with puro boss, but it might be a couple months before I get to my summer service. Just wish fram would have did them holes better. Not only the 6 holes but they made most of them smaller holes.

Were losing the wix xp as a synthetic media filter. I saw at oreillies today the new stock has a cellulose or blend media on the package and doesnt mention wire backing and it now has a 20k mile rating
