Thought about piecing together my own kit, hoses etc, for my 2022 5th Gen 1500 DT w/5.7L v8 and decided against it.

Found the PacBrake HP10596 kit on sale for $242 at CspRacing with code "Xmas" ... (They had 2 in stock)

It seems to be out of stock at the PacBrake recommended sites, and I came across one eBay seller that mentioned both part # kits in the listing before finally getting confirmation it was the older superceded kit # xxx363. Along with this reply after some proding ...

... " The HP10596 has Fluorosilicone o-ring material for the adapter seals, whereas the HP10363 (now discontinued and superseded by the HP10596) had BUNA o-rings. "

---------------

Also ordered the Fumoto valve, F106SX
(with tube kit)

For reference later...

Carlos.33193 posted the following oRings earlier at the other 5th Gen site post 258 as replacements for the earlier PacBrake HP105363 kit but I wanted to have them added to my post to find them again later if needed for the the HP10596 kit.

Part 2:
Well, I finally got the PacBrake HP10596 kit and Fumoto F106SX installed last weekend. No more looking like a Rorschach test when I drain the oil.

It was a bigger pain in the a$* than the directions and install videos let on.

I made... 3/4" & 7/8" Stubby wrenches from extras I had (~ 5-6" long)... Really wish I had a stubby 1-1/4"
Picked up a set of crow's foot wrenches with 7/8, 3/4 and 1-1/4 sizes (1-1/4 was about useless)... Made due with a 1-1/4" socket, universal & extensions.

- For me, i found I needed to test install and torque down as many of the 90deg elbows onto the remote Mount & adapter as possible (& Outside adapter hose) outside of the truck and then install it. This required me to install /remove the setup 2 or 3 times and mark the 90's where they needed to be set. I was surprised with how much force, 38-40ft/lbs is on the AN & hose fittings... Thought I was going to strip something out.

- The filter adapter with outer hose had to be installed as a unit and then locked down without the center 90deg fitting. Then installed the center 90, lined it up and locked it down with the 2 stubby wrenches by hand with a few 'grunt pounds' of force.

- I also found that, IMO, the filter mount is about 2" to high and I didn't like the hoses bending up to the remote Mount, which also made them rub against the other lines. I drilled a new set, 2" lower which made the hoses align/fit better IMO. (See pictures).

- Total install time for me was about 4.5 - 5 hrs and even with the truck up on the ramps in off road mode, was difficult to work in that space/install. My step dad said I looked like that Aussie break dancer lady (RayGun) spinning around/contorting constantly for better access... And I felt it the next day!

- Oil pressure dropped about 3-4psi across the board with same 0w-20 Penzoil Platinum oil and OEM filter.
Mopar MO-339 filter PN: 04892339BE, $8 (See before/after below).

Other OEM 22mm filter options I've seen mentioned by others ...
- WIX 57063 Spin-On Filter, $12
(same as SRT filter SRT-MO-041 PN: 5038041AA, $15)

Ever thought about switching out those 90's for ones that flow better,i'd also use a die grinder and carbide bit or cartridge roll to smooth out all the sharp corners you can get at.Should help bring your pressures back up to stock pressures

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was aware up front that there would be some pressure drop with the kit. Seems to be negligible/within OEM acceptable tolerances from what I've seen mentioned elsewhere, & what PacBrake expects (but I'm no expert). Not sure if moving up to the SRT MO-041 or Wix 57063 filter would help with pressure or not.

I would have preferred to replace the the sharp 90°s with a rounded NPT to AN-10 fitting set... But didn't have the extra time to really research it and learn about the hose/fitting specs and differences vs just use a complete kit.
It won't be getting re-done unless there's a leak issue somewhere since it was such a pain to install... But it would be nice to have a plan with replacement fittings selected if I could find something that would have the same ends but with rounded 90s. (Didn't see any that would work with the hose set the kit came with at the link you gave).

Any farm implement store should be able to make up hoses with full flow fittings that would thread right into your adapters if you didn't want to use the hose ends i linked to. The PacBrake kit does have a rep of dropping oil pressures, but i think with better hose ends and some porting, you could easily get around that

My follow-up to my original post: I got the Derale kit and finally installed it this past Friday when we had a warm day. The installation of the adapter was as difficult as changing the original filter but other than that everything went smoothly. Installing fittings and hoses wasn't near as difficult as I was expecting. The hardest part was drilling and tapping the mounting holes in the frame extension. Once installed there were no leaks and now I look forward to doing oil changes. I do need to check oil level due to the hoses and larger oil filter (Wix 51515XL). Hopefully tomorrow when our winter storm is over.

If you use these adapters, then the swivel hose end just screws onto the fittings

There's also these pushlock fittings ,which for the average guy are easier to work with.

9/7/25 Update:
49,330 total Miles (15k on the kit)
... Some very slight discoloration on the hose fittings/adapters. No other issues still (thank goodness) . Same oil and filter.
