There's a thread called "Plug and Play LED Headlights" or something very similar that talks up a product made by "Opt-7". That's about all the constructive stuff I can offer.

From what I've read the fog lights are not monitored my the computer like the canbus headlights and they should work...as far as the headlights...I wouldn't count on it...unless they have built in resistors to trick the computer. I put HID's in my truck and had to buy the resistors....but I've tried a few different bulbs in my fog lights and they all worked.

I had a hard time choosing myself but I finally pulled the trigger on the Opt7 leds (size H11) for my low beam headlights and the JDM ASTAR led's (size 9145) for the fogs. I love the JDM ASTAR brand and have every light on and in my truck... fogs, front turn signals (which are the white to amber switchback bulb), 3rd brake light, reverse, licence plate, and all interior lights.. installed with the "Extremely Bright" series from JDM aside from the headlights which are the Opt7 brand and my tail lights which are an aftermarket assembly from Spectre. The only bulb that gave me any trouble as far as the "error bulb out code" that i had to install a load resistor on was the front turn signals. The Opt7 leds have resistors bult in and are completely plug and play with all wiring hardware included with the purchase. The headlights and fogs are the same 6000k color temperature and both are ridiculously bright. I included screen shots of my purchases from amazon and an installed picture. Hope this helps.

How bright are the headlights? Did you have HIDs before or stock bulbs.

I have HIDs and there pretty bright and work well. I would hate to drop $200 on LEDs when my $60 HIDs are brighter.

Yes, he has a 2010

No, you need some with the CREE led's. There very many kinds, but the ones you linked are for like a turn signal or back up lights.

Yes. My Ram is a 2010 with the quad headlights (separate lights for high and low beams). Here are the links:

Low Beam headlights size H11:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00VNBDWPK

Fog lights size 9145:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00LNNR9GG

The headlights are $100 for both headlights NOT $100 a piece and are 100% plug and play with all wiring included.. just make sure you look under the foam in the box for the rest of the wiring. Lol I didn't bother looking under the foam and assumed they forgot to send the necessary wiring, but it was there.

As for adjusting the headlights. Pop the hood and along the fender rail are a few holes. One of the holes has an arrow stamped into the metal. That is your adjustment hole. You'll need a 6 point torx bit (can't remember what size) and a 6 inch extention and a little bit of fishing skill to get the bit on the adjustment screw.

I'm going to apologize for the lengthy response first off lol..

So...

As for the brightness of the led's compared to the hid's, I can't give you an answer on that. I had stock halogens in there before and the led's are definitely brighter than stock. However, due to their design of having 2 diodes on opposite sides of the circuit board there is a very small area on each edge of the board (bulb) that does not emit light. So when placed in the head light assembly, the circuit board sits at a 45° angle (I'll try and follow up with a picture this evening to give you a visual of what I'm explaining).

So because of the design characteristics I mentioned above.. there are two very small portions of the reflective backing in the assembly that transfer the light in front of the truck that don't get as much light as they should. That causes a slight dark spot on the road.

I've been told that these bulbs perform best when used in a projector style head light assembly. I, however like the stock assembly look and never went to projectors.

My high beams are stock halogens (for now) because I didn't want to lose the road coverage while driving to work at 2am. I'll most likely swap them with a Sylvania Silver Star in the near future to have them brighter, but to also keep my high beam road coverage.

I didn't put the led's in for the brightness or road coverage, as much as I did it for the color temperature and wow factor. My Ram is blue so these lights complement it very well. Dont get anything I've said wrong here.. I love these led lights, and they do very well as far as lighting up the road.. despite their design characteristics. Driving around town, they do just fine an get the job done. Out of town.. If I want road coverage I simply kick on the high beams lol.

I would have to say that if your super concerned about the amount of road coverage you want, go with/stay with the hid's.

BUT, keep in mind that led's have a better life span over hids and there is a significant difference in the radiant heat given off between the led's an hid's, which is why i chose the led's over hids. The leds have very very little, to none at all.. where as the hid's give off just as much, if not more than stock halogens.

What that means for your whole headlight assemblies, is premature weakening/yellowing/cracking/fading of your lenses and reflective backing. The uv light given off by the sun plays a part in that as well.. but the heat helps kill it.

So with all that being said.. it all comes down to a matter of preference and what you want out of the light.

Hope this clears it up some for you. Like I said, I'll try an get a picture posted this evening.

Here are the pics I said I'd post.

Pic #1.. you can see how the circuit board sits in the assembly at a 45°angle. The white side of the board has one diode and same on the other side of the bulb. This causes pic #2 to look the way it does when viewed from a set point. Notice that in the lower left and upper right of the head light it looks dark. That is because the light doesn't completely fill it. Reflective light does come from these areas as you can see in pic #3 if viewed as a whole light it does light up all over.

Those pics were taken of the drivers side. The passenger side is the same way, just a mirrored. Take those pics and turn them over and it's as if I took them from the passenger side. Just didn't want any confusion as to if the passenger bulb would be sitting the same direction as the drivers side causing the passenger lower left and upper right to be lit up like the drivers side. No, the passenger upper left and lower right have the darkened spots.

Anywho, like I said in my last post. It is a great light and it does just what I intended it to do. It's all about preferences in the end.

Thanks for pics and info..

I will probably do the same as Rzrman328. Hids take a dump. Leds will go in.
Just like the light bars, prices will keep dropping. I am in no hurry.

That another thing I was wanting to know. I haven't seen anybody try them in projectors. I have projectors too.

Now I've read on other car forums they work better in projectors since they focus the light and don't need a wide beam pattern like in reflector housings.

BlownGP is right. They are more efficient in a projector housing. They sell all bulb sizes. In the description and in the pictures on amazon where I bought them from, talks about how they have no dark spots when installed in a projector housing. There are some customer pictures there as well and a few were projectors if memory serves me.

Those of you wanting LED bulbs that work on the RAMs, email [email protected].

His name is Braden and his company is based out of Canada. Myself, along with multiple other members from the Z forum have purchased from him and have had no problems. There is a lengthy thread on the other forum that explains all about it. I have a 7200lm kit in my fogs and 3200lm bulbs in my stock projectors housings with no issues. Email him and he'll hook you up.

I have the Phillips kit mentioned in the above post in my 2015. They are the real deal. Also, I cant say enough good things about Braden and his customer service. Trust me you will not be disapointed.
