Ok everyone I'm trying to diagnose a consistent misfire P0300 that only happens on cold start. The rest of the day the engine idles fine.

As miles accumulate past 120k assuming the engine is sound what other sensors and emissions equipment needs to be changed over time.

So far I've done the following
Map sensor
Spark plugs
Gas cap
Purge valve
Leak detection pump on the tank

I'm wondering if something like the VCT solenoid needs replacing. The miss at idle is noticeable almost like the truck is being commanded to do it vs a specific cyl being down. The only code is P0300.

Other interesting note I never have this problem in summer. Only as he seasons change does the truck behave like this. Drives fine with plenty of power. No complaints there

I don't know if this is relevant to your issue because if I understand you correctly, you do have a miss at idle. But.....

I had an intermittent CEL and P0302 code (misfire cylinder 2) which would happen only when the engine was cold (last winter). This happened on three different occasions iirc. The difference with my symptoms versus your is the engines performance never changed; no actual signs of a misfire. Ran smooth and strong as always. I decided to try something simple first before messing with the coil packs/plugs so I ran a bottle of fuel injection cleaner through the system (sorry, don't remember what brand). It has been about 10 months now and no more CEL or codes. Could very well just be a coincidence, I will probably never know but living in Alaska I have bought fuel in out-of-the-way, questionable places that could easily have had old/contaminated fuel. At any rate, just a thought.
